Biography

DJane Minatrix, early influenced by the Austrian electronic music scene, made her first DJ-experiences by playing Techno on vinyl. After loads of practicing and playing on private parties, she finally became her first gig at the age of 16 on an event organised by the “Werk” at the ”area 51” in Vienna. This was the first time she could show her potential and her love in mixing and playing with sounds to a bigger audience – though she was pretty nervous – this first step into DJing showed her, that she was totally into playing for a bigger crowd and that this event should change her life completely. She got hungry for the feeling to react on the moods of the dancing people and make the party-crowd move their feet to her own special kind of style.

Pretty early in 2006 she realised, that there were so many more electronic music styles to play with and switched from techno to minimal and afterwards to drum’n’bass to prove out her mixing skills at a wider range.
In 2010, till then playing on vinyl only, she found her passion in playing goa and darker psychedelic sounds – mixing with CD-Players. 
After a lot of DJ-Gigs in Austria (on different festivals for example the “F.L.O.W.-Festival” in Austria, “Spirit Base” in Hungary, “Bigger Tingz” in the U.K./London and locations e.g.: Werk, Fluc, Auslage, MUMOK, Clubschiff, Badeschiff, Böllerbauer, Planetarium, …) and organising her own  successful psytrance events e.g.: “Psychedelic Walk” in an underground club in Vienna, DJane Minatrix  started to produce her own sounds using Ableton and is now working on her first tracks.
In her DJ-Sets, Minatrix’ intension is to take the crowd on a trippy journey through her loved psychedelic sounds and to travel with them on a funky and bouncy way through her own special psychedelic story.

Mass United is an Underground Techno Collective based in Tokyo that centers itself round a monthly club night which was established in 2001 by promoter Yoshinori Nagafusa (MC Wet Pocket). After a couple of events at Club Ism in Roppongi, Mass expanded and found a new home at Club Module in Shibuya-ku, where it has been running sucessfully since mid-2001. Original resident DJ's, K.N. and DJ Cunt were soon joined by current residents, Cydeboard and DJ 2003. yoshiro a.k.a GENKY Mass regularly plays host to many other national DJ's as well as inviting international guests from the UK and Australia. Such artists have included Chris and Aaron Liberator, ANT, D.A.V.E. The Drummer, Guy McAffer, Rackitt, DDR, Sarah F.A.B., James Kinetec, DJ Giselle, Thermobee and SLS. As well as the club nights, Mass United is soon to be adding a record label to the collective (Mass Recordings), writing and recording material at K.N.'s "The Fast Lane" Studio as well as comissioning tracks from the artists of the London based Stay Up Forever Collective.
