Elena is a Buffalo, New York based singer and songwriter.  In love with music and art from a young age, Elena’s alluring tone and deep vocals create a sound that amplifies, and lyrics that speak truth far beyond her years. Pulling inspiration from indie-pop artist Lorde and powerhouse Rihanna, Elena's music embraces youth and maturity, creating a sound that is both sweet and sultry.

Elena (means "bright light") is determined to use her music and firsthand experience to connect with teens who suffer from anxiety, stress, depression, and be that light for them. “I can’t count the number of people my age that look fine and normal, but are paralyzed by their mind. I was one of them. I had to learn to embrace the challenges in my life, instead of being consumed by them.”

Every Single Day was formed in Busan in 1997 with singer and bassist Sung-nam Moon, guitarist Jae-o o Jung, and drummer Moon-chul Gang. In 1999 the band relocated to Seoul to release their first album entitled Broken Street. 

In 2000 Moon-chul Gang left the band and was replaced by drummer Seung-won Choi. In 2001 their first EP entitled Happy Birthday was released. In 2004 they released their self titled, Every Single Day, album. In 2007 they released their third album entitled Tom's Diary and shortly after Seung-won Choi left the band to be replaced by drummer Hyo-jun Yoo. 

In 2008 the band released their fourth album entitled The Bright Side. 

In 2009 the band joined the efforts of the World Toilet Association(WTA), a group inaugurated in 2007 to help the 2.5 billion people throughout the world who currently suffer from the lack of toilets. They believe that the improvement of toilets is fundamental to the dignity and social development of all human beings.
Every Single Day wrote and produced 3 songs with Korean and English versions to help promote this great association in their efforts. You can check out this group at www.withwta.org and become a toilet angel today.

In 2010 Every Single Day wrote and produced the music for the hit drama 'Pasta' in Korea. Their songs, including Lucky Day as the credit song, were featured throughout the show. 

In 2011 Every Single Day wrote and produced the music for the hit drama 'My Princess' with the actors Kim Tae-hee and Song Seung-hun. The two part OST included their bands original songs "Change" and "Falling" among others.

밴드 에브리싱글데이는 문성남(보컬, 베이스)과 정재우(기타)를 주축으로 1997년 부산에서 결성된 3인조 밴드이다. "비트 있는 모던락"이라고 표현할 수 있는 에브리싱글데이의 음악은 특정한 장르만을 고수하지 않고, 시간이 흘러가듯 밴드도 함께 성장하며 변화해가는 ‘고정되지 않은 유연함’을 지향한다.

멤버들의 우정과 실력, 음악적 감성에 대한 믿음으로 꾸준히 활동해온 에브리싱글데이는 삶에서 느끼는 감정들을 3인조 밴드 사운드 안에서 충실하게 표현하고자 노력하고 있다.

십 년이 훌쩍 넘는 시간동안 홍대 인디씬을 든든하게 지키고 있는 밴드 에브리싱글데이는 1999년 첫번째 앨범 <Broken Street> 발매를 시작으로, 2004년 2집 <Every Single Day>, 2007년 3집 <Tom’s Diary>, 2008년 4집 <The Bright Side>을 발표하였으며, 2010년 1월에는 MBC 드라마 ‘파스타’의 음악감독을 맡았다. 
현재는 공연활동과 더불어 새로운 앨범을 준비 중이다.


 About SPIKE the Percussionist
SPIKE the Percussionist is a classically trained performer and composer who studied under percussion guru and Yamaha performing artist Dr. Norman Weinberg, author of Guide to Standardized Drumset Notation and The Electronic Drummer. A master of acoustic percussion, SPIKE is also an expert programmer and electronic music expert with a degree in audio engineering. While most drummers with SPIKE's talent and training would have headed for a career in classical symphony or jazz composition, SPIKE took an entirely different route. Inspired by Dr. Weinberg's advocacy of technological advances in percussion and his own inventiveness (SPIKE's award-winning sophomore recital was the first entirely electronic composition ever performed by a percussion student in competition), SPIKE focused his formidable abilities on ambient noiz and electro-industrial, two burgeoning, but at that time obscure, genres of music. "When I started back in the 80s, nobody was doing what I was doing. I am the only drummer I have ever heard of who actually embraced the coming of the drum machine---and the only one who could actually play along with it. Playing live with, or composing with, a drum machine is an art unto itself with its own set of disciplines and creative boundaries. In short, I came up with some really wild stuff. Things nobody had ever heard before. Now, suddenly there is this huge market for ambient noiz and electro industrial. It blows my mind to think that what I was doing then in my little hometown is suddenly the rage in the international underground and college scenes. If I had only been in New York or L.A. instead of Corpus Christi, Texas!" Like Dr. Weinberg's best-friend Kenny Aranoff, who found success as the drummer for John Cougar Mellencamp, SPIKE longed for the chance to make a living as a musician. Unfortunately, there were no John Cougar Mellencamps in Corpus Christi. While SPIKE's numerous bands achieved some local notoriety throughout the years, their attempts to break into the national scene always fell short. To SPIKE, the frustration was almost unbearable. "Even after I moved to Houston, I just couldn't find the right pieces to the puzzle. The lack of ambition, the irresponsibility, the drug use, the lousy singers with prima donna attitudes---you name it, I dealt with it. Fifteen years of crap. I closed my eyes to a lot of bad signs early on because I wanted to make it so bad. Most guys in local bands can daydream all day with you about making it big. But that is all it is to them---daydreams. They won't make the sacrifices. They have no real ambition. Even the most talented guys, the guys who could play with anybody, they just can't conceive of anything beyond their 9 to 5 job. I am willing to die for my music, to starve, to suffer. I just haven't been able to find anyone on the local scene with that kind of commitment yet." Fortunately, SPIKE never let go of his solo projects, continuing to compose and record his own material, even while devoting himself to his bands. Releasing his work sporadically, SPIKE was surprised to find himself the subject of numerous positive reviews. "Naturally I assumed that the only way I was going to make it was in a band. I mean that is how it works, right? So even though I was recording all this solo stuff in my spare time, I was devoting all my efforts to promoting the band. Every few months, I would send a single or two of my own off, and it would end up on a compilation album. But I was just like 'whatever.' I kept pushing the band. I guess I didn't see the big picture. In fact, it wasn't until just this year that I actually faced up to the fact that I was having much better success as a solo artist and that I should pursue that path. It was hard. I love the dynamics of a band; I love playing with other musicians. But I know now that it has to be the right band. We all have to have the same goals and be willing to put forth the effort. Otherwise, it just doesn't work." For the first time in his long music career, SPIKE the Percussionist is dedicating himself totally to his solo work. And, he says, he has never been happier. "The freedom is wonderful. I'm not tied down anywhere. I can focus entirely on my work. There is a market for what I am doing and I am building a fan base. I don't have to worry about dragging a bunch of unwilling bandmates with me. Sure I still love to play with other musicians, but I can do session work in New York, sit in with jazz combos downtown, work with some other bands in the studio, without feeling that I am neglecting my own group. I am the musical director for the performance group CoRE, something that I enjoy, and it doesn't take all of my time. I feel like I am part of the team rather than the player, coach, and general manager all in one!" All said, the future for SPIKE the Percussionist has never looked brighter or as the man himself would say "darker." "I am a night person," he says. "Dark actually has a more positive connotation to me than bright. Bright is painful. Like looking into the sun. Dark is placid. Dark is peace." As weird as that sounds, he has a point. And isn't that the best way to describe the man himself? His music? For while SPIKE and his music seem to fly in the face of convention, there is a point to it all. It is our job to see it. And if we can't, that is all well and good to SPIKE. "Whether or not you get what I am doing is not important to me. I just ask that you respect the fact that there are plenty of those out there who do and millions who will." And that is what being a visionary is all about. 

Like the flower of their moniker, Edelweiss comes from a realm few can reach and even fewer can possess. Musically adept and creatively boundless, this Stroudsburg, PA-based indie pop band have independently released their debut EP, Pre-Columbians on September 13, 2011. While bands of their ilk suffer the weight of heavy music, these nimble youngsters (average age: 16 years old, all of them still in high school) reach musical heights effortlessly with their ability to write and wield their instruments with surgeon-like precision while remaining excitingly fresh and dynamic.

Produced, engineered, and mixed by Jeremy Sklarsky (Freelance Whales, Teenage Fanclub, Pop ETC/The Morning Benders) at Threshold Studios in New York City, the EP is a fascinating experiment of sharp guitars, soaring melodies and propulsive rhythms that is at once timeless and currently modern – a sound that betrays the surprising youth of the band. All teenagers - Niko Porlier (vocals, guitar) is 18,Tommy Vitale (vocals, bass) is 17, Donald Young (guitar), Shane Cashman (keys), and Jacob Porlier (drum) are 16. Edelweiss have only been together for just over two years and yet, have played at large-scale regional music events and high-profile clubs in NYC including Knitting Factory, Highline Ballroom and Mercury Lounge among others, as well as Allentown, PA’s Mayfair Festival of the Arts.

From the surging “Icarus” with its soaring vocals weaving in and out of breakneck guitar noodling, to the bright and layered “Fiasco” with its shoegazey textures, to the meandering vocals of “(NO)” interplaying with the rhythm section like a frantic game of chess, Pre-Columbians showcases a band far beyond their years and a sound that betrays their roots in rural Pennsylvania. Drawing their influences from bands such as Bloc Party, Duran Duran, and Yourself and the Air, among others, the band continues to grow by leaps and bounds in the New York City and Northeast Pennsylvania club circuits and are preparing for their national break.

My name is Malte. I suffer from multiple disabilities, and need help with most things. I spend my days here at this home for the disabled, and there isn't much I am able to do, even though I would love to get outdoors some time. I envy those who do sports. I would have loved to try soccer. Or just walk in the forest. But I am unable.

My greatest sadness was when my parents left me here and I became an orphan. That was some years ago, though. I'm grown up now. Still it hurts me sometimes, my mom and dad was everything to me, I didn't know anything else at the age of 6 when they left me here. I remember I waited and waited and waited for them to come and bring me away from this Hell on Earth for a 6 year old. Or just come from time to time to give me a hug. But they never showed up since. Not even at birthdays or Christmases. Not even a postcard greeting! Tears come sometime when I see others who live here getting visitors and and all happy smiles. These things goes for my best friend here, Bengt-Ake, too.

Our lives are not worthy, being more or less paralyzed, getting bedsores, needing assistance with almost everything, it's not at all worthy. No it isn't. It's not easy to stay strong under such circumstances. If only we would have had the possibility, we would have had commit suicide long time ago.

Music is a good way to lighten our minds up, though. Internet, RN, FaceBook, YouTube and other places are our ways to get out from the darkness, to discover great music, enjoy great music, appreciate the hard work people lay down on their music. When we hear something we really love, we try to contact the people behind that music to tell them how much we adore their music, and sometimes may be also ask for autographs.

We want to show much respect to all those who devote their lives into making great music.

Our personal assistants are kind enough to put any autographed picture we receive from artists or people we adore in frames and have them placed on the walls in our private rooms, something for us to enjoy watching, while we listen to their great music.
