In 2022, Liam Purcell shook the bluegrass world by sweeping the Rockygrass Instrumental Championships in Colorado, taking home first place honors on mandolin, banjo, and guitar. He is the only person to ever achieve a simultaneous victory in multiple championships.

Growing up less than a mile away from the legendary guitarist Doc Watson, Liam Purcell was steeped in Appalachian Old-Time and Bluegrass traditions from an early age. Taking inspiration from the local Deep Gap legacy, Liam began writing, performing, and storytelling from an early age.

Tuesday String Band loves entertaining crowds with fast pickin’, witty banter, and string band versions of songs from a wide variety of styles. The band plays upwards of 100 shows per year throughout the Pacific Northwest and has performed at several major Bluegrass festivals, including the North Cascades Bluegrass Festival.

The band is on a mission to keep the string band tradition alive and to educate the next generation of pickers along the way!

Thunder and Rain is a Nashville-based Newgrass band delivering melodic hooks, rich harmonies, and grassy drive with pop-rock inspired songcraft.

Over their decade-long career, Thunder and Rain has shared the stage with artists such as Billy Strings, The Kruger Brothers, Peter Rowan, AJ Lee and Blue Summit, and The Brothers Comatose. Their 2020 single, “Run With You,” was selected for the IBMA Songwriter Showcase in 2023.

Dale Adkins of Midnight45 joins Featured Artist host Dina Pavlis.

Midnight45 is known for their bluesy vocal-based deep-groove bluegrass music with a solid traditional approach. Along with Dale, Midnight45 includes well-known veteran artists, Suzanne Adkins on stand-up bass, Jered Widman on guitar and Josh Adkins on mandolin. Loved by fans for the glass-shattering power of high tenor bluegrass voices and perfect harmonies, Midnight45 performs traditional & contemporary bluegrass, featuring original material as well as traditional country duets.
