
This song is about deep ancestral memory.  The hum of humanity before history was written. 

It channels the lost world of Doggerland and the Happisburgh footprints, imagining our Mesolithic ancestors as ghostly teachers who left no tombs, no kings, no creeds. Just tools, fire, rhythm, and a way of moving through the world.

It’s about the continuity between them and you: how their songs are still inside, deep within your marrow. 
How their dances are in your instincts, how the landscape itself remembers them. 

At its core, this is a love letter to the unnamed, unremembered people who taught humanity how to be.

A powerful meditation on cultural appropriation and white guilt wrapped in indigenous imagery. The song builds through vivid descriptions of pre-colonial America before delivering a devastating twist - the narrator reveals he's actually a white man in Denver who has romanticized Native American history. This confession transforms the song from cultural reverence into a critique of performative identity and the commodification of others' trauma. The coffee/ash metaphor becomes a symbol of guilt's bitter taste.
