"1999" was created with a central theme always in mind: nostalgic feelings about the end of the 90s and the turn of the century. Emotions about growing up, getting older, leaving someone and some things behind, and moving on to the next stage of life. The sounds are typical of the 90s, with powerful drum beats and synthesizers in the background. Nostalgic vocals, with a catchy and energetic chorus.
