SEEKING MAVIS BEACON is a hybrid-documentary that blends myth and memory to uncover the truth behind an unsung hero in Black history-- a journey in search of the face behind an iconic computer program introduced in 1987: Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing. We sit down with investigative writer/director Jazmin Jones.

In 2014, writer/director Damien Chazelle turned his love of jazz into the intense 3-time Oscar-winning drama WHIPLASH, about a young student drummer who is put through his paces and then some by a teacher who is more drill sergeant than instructor. WHIPLASH is getting a theatrical 4K re-release for its 10th anniversary this month, so we crack open the vault and revisit our first chat with Chazelle.

THE TRUE STORY OF TAMARA DE LEMPICKA AND THE ART OF SURVIVAL traces the life of the renowned Art Deco painter famous for her high-gloss sensual nudes and portraits of high society during the Jazz Age. We get to know the artist through her powerful canvases, following her ascent to international stardom in 1920s Paris to her move to the U.S. in 1940, fleeing the rise of fascism in Europe and then her revival in the current art market. Writer/director/co-producer Julie Rubio is here to chat about her new documentary.
