In this mesmerizing 2 hours DJ-set recorded last summer 2021 during the Kuboraum + Terraforma event @Funkhaus Harbour, Berlin, DJ Stingray 313 gave no time to rest, gracing the decks with eclectic, warp-speed slithery electronic sounds.

Since the 90s, Sherard Ingram has been one of the most influential artists in the Detroit underground scene. A menacing node in the vast tangle of electronic music’s history, present and future. Founder of Urban Tribe, Ingram worked alongside electro pioneers such as Drexciya, Anthony Shakir, Kenny Dixon Jr aka Moodymann.
DJ Stingray 313's aesthetic was greatly influenced by the duo Drexciya. Their ethos was based on the afro-futurist narrative concept of a sonic fiction. Through a sonic engagement with water, futurity and the transnational dimension of transformation, listeners embark upon a universal journey to a place of self-discovery. In this context, a mythical creature emerging from the aquatic underworld was named DJ Stingray by James Stinson. Besides adding to the consistent aquatic tropes, the name Stingray also acutely embodied his slippery, killer attitude behind the decks. 

With more than three dozen releases, Ingram collaborated with labels as Retroactive, Aphex Twin’s Rephlex label, TRUST and Mo Wax, later forming Micron Audio in 2008. In 2017 his first mix CD, Kern Vol.4, was released by Tresor.
From futuristic electro to conceptual ambient to downtempo works, his style is characterised by fast-paced, inventive beat patterns and constant shifts in tones. Warp-speed slithery, metallic techno with a UR punk edge and a rising sense of momentum.
A highly specialized, fine-tuned scientific experiment conducted by a skilled researcher: not euphoric, but more intellectual in nature. Always hectic and highly engaged, but never unfocused. And always carrying the spark of discovery.

@bjarki is relentless. The Icelandic artist has admitted in the past he is obsessed with making music. And since his debut in 2015 there has been a lot of it - six albums and plenty of EPs, mostly on Nina Kraviz's трип, !K7 and his own bbbbbb label. It is always bold and innovative whether taking the form of a straight up club banger or abstract IDM composition. He has released it under more than 10 different names, and what unifies it all is its experimental spirit. 

You could say the same about this week's podcast, which begins with kiddie favourite 'The Birdie Song' before slipping into spoken word monologues, ice cold broken beats and twisted rhythms. They unfold at a relentless pace, with quick and seamless transitions from electro to techno to club music immersing you deep in Bjarki's unique sonic psyche. The cumulative effect is like a busy collage; an outpouring of captivating music from an overactive mind.

As one of the original members of rave collective Fast Forward, Schacke is a poster child for the Copenhagen scene: an arcadian playground complete with its own sound, codes and likely soon, diaspora. The DJ/Producer’s boundary-pushing output takes cues from metal, noise, hard trance, techno, you name it, though these stylistic distinctions are maybe less important than Schacke’s grander mission, one of providing ‘simulation therapy’ by way of getting ravers to enter a ‘kind of virtual reality’ in shared space. A few weeks back, the Danish wunderkind packed their gear and did just that, regaling party-goers with a taste of Denmark in Tbilisi. This one’s a live recording of Schacke’s set at Horoom, one of the club’s longest parties to date, a 12 hour set packed with fun and mercurial beats.

For this next version of the Fast Forward Audio Series, we are also presenting a new artist to the Fast Forward family: DJ Tool !

With his roots deep in the Copenhagen DIY music scene Joachim Palsby, aka DJ TOOL, has been playing and collecting different music for more than a decade. After many years of playing punk, metal and electronic noise music, he slowly developed an interest in techno and trance. For years he has been roaming the international dance floors as a loyal dancer, and ended up behind the booth with the skills of all vinyl Djing. DJ TOOL is a classic example of a DJ that merges directly from the floor to the booth. He is the Co-organizer and resident DJ of Mala Junta. Mala Junta is a smaller intimate party with focus on old school, faster and harder techno and trance that is merging in Berlin. The party quickly became among Berlins most recognized parties for its special music profile. His sets are an authentic and always well executed blend of sexy techno and gloomy trance. The sound is old-school, hard and fast but always funky and uplifting. With a passion and expertise in longer sets, his closings are highly recommended.

“Rage Therapy” is the name of a laboratory research on the wretched conditions of dancing human beings conducted with a self developed Javascript computer program by two expert researchers of Techno social semiotic.
The computer program elaborates pseudo-random sequences to manually feed analog and digital electronic instruments in order to create an animating underlayer for fast post-industrial percussive compulsions.
After several months of studio development, the scientific research is ready to test the effects of antiseptic binary repetitive composition on the snarling disenchanted recessive rave generation.
