WARSAW TO JOY DIVISION: Long ago in a galaxy far away, I chanced upon three dusty old cassettes at a flea market in Camden Town, London. How enjoyable it is to hear Ian Curtis and the band working out their lyrical and instrumental chops. These tracks are now classic's and sound 
wonderfully raw without Martin Hannett at the mixing desk 
noodling around. Best played at ear-splitting volume with spasmodic body motion at the ready.

The Cure - A Forest (Live 1992)

I saw The Smiths on this tour at The Beacon Theater in NYC.  By the end of the show, the crowd had swarmed the stage (with help from Morrissey who shortly thereafter left the stage)and was a full-on dance party up there.  They are really at their height during this relatively brief period of their relatively short existence.  I saw countless shows back then (still kinda do) and The Smiths at the Beacon in '83 or '84 is still THE best concert I've ever seen.  This recording is virtually the identical set of songs.  I remember fully well that Barbarism Begins At Home was the last song they did with everyone dancing on stage.  This show ends the same way.  Outstanding start to finish!
