“When I grow up, I want to be a singer,” reads a scribbled note. The author of that note was Kirstie when she was just a little girl. Kirstie made up her mind at a young age and has gone after this dream ever since. With hard work, persistence, pushing herself out of her comfort zone and seizing her opportunities. Kirstie is an open book, says it like it and loves connecting with her fans whom she calls her Thirsties.

A Wisconsin native, Kirstie is loud and proud of her where she came from. Her dream to become a singer started when she was a child, beginning by singing for her large family. From there, she would be active in the community, offering her voice and cheerful disposition anywhere she could. Throughout the Midwest she rocked the stage with Wisconsin-based band Thirsty Jones.

In 2017 Kirstie finally made the move. When she was 11 she made her first trip to Nashville, making regular visits since. Her love for the city went as far as looking for magnet middle schools to attend. Serious in her career as an artist, Kirstie packed up her bags and set her sights for Nashville.

For those that have the pleasure of listening to Kirstie sing, they’ll find that she has a voice of power, certain with passion and liveliness, capable of melding genres to make a sound of her own. From country to pop, and add a little funk, her sound is bound to attract new fans from all different places. Her debut single Delusional proves that by grabbing attention from diverse audiences, all very receptive and providing Kirstie with an outpouring of positive feedback and support.

As much as she loves being in the studio, Kirstie truly enjoys taking the stage and is looking forward to her second national tour this summer. Kirstie has had the privilege to have some amazing Nashville talent on this upcoming this record including Rich Redmond (Drummer for Jason Aldean), John Billings (Bassist for Love Monkey’s), Ford Thurston (Guitarist for Randy Houser), Adam Box (Drummer for Brothers Osborne), Lee Turner (Keys for Darius Rucker) and Chris Benelli (Nashville Session Drummer).

Bertie dropped onto the bench and took a swig of, what?  Could have been whiskey, could have been juice. She’d peeled all the labels off a long time ago. Dusk. It was her favourite time: the orange eye of the sun, bored and falling fast, the empty streets, the smell of the dark winding round her legs. She curled her spine and pressed deeper into the wooden slats of the bench, like an attic ladder against her back. She settled in to watch. This was the time for shadow chasers, when hurt was in the air and the bins overflowed with silent hopes and crumpled dreams. 

She flicked through the menu on her iPod. Headway, The Only One, from the soundtrack of Hey Hey It’s Esther Blueburger, Black, Secrets and Lies and a cover of Peek-a-boo by Siouxsie and the Banshees. And this new one, Pope Innocent X.

Her thumb hovered over the button, one cracking eye to unleash the loneliness of everything. She hesitated. Took another swig and winced as she swallowed. Probably not juice. She pressed play and reached inside her coat for the book she’d stolen last time she went home, A Travel Guide for Foundlings with Nowhere To Go. On the title page, in red pencil, someone had scrawled ‘2009 ARIA Breakthrough Independent Artist of the Year’ and ‘2009 ARIA Best Independent Release.’ Bertie laughed as she tore out the page, flicked her lighter open and set the paper alight. She pulled out her bookmark - a dog-eared card embossed with ‘Francois Tetaz – Producer at Large’ – and started drawing the mourning light of the looming stars onto the pages. 

It was dark when she’d finished. And cold. And she was thirsty. Out of the corner of her eye, she could feel the world come alive with the fiends of the night. She fixed them with her unblinking eye and whispered I know where you’re hiding and I’m coming to get you.

Earlier being Club Royalty’s resident and Drop spin maestro, DJ Willy makes it his personal mission to lure the crowds on to the dance floor every evening and keep them there all night! 

A Bandra boy bred up on a staple diet of the Bee Gees, Bill Haley & His Comets, and Michael Jackson, DJ Willy drew inspiration from a neighbourhood full of musicians and embarked on his career fresh out of school at the age of 16. “I was never much of a book guy,” he says with a grin.

He has amazing memories of the early scene. “The 90’s was the decade people really knew how to party. They didn’t come out to be seen, they were thirsty for the music.” 
The nascent years of struggle and playing R&B sets at small Bandra clubs (remember Illusions?) gave way to a break that changed his life. “DJ Ryan Beck introduced me to DJ Aqeel, the king of Bollywood mixes. From then on, things just went higher and higher for me.” 

What followed were stints at Enigma at The Marriot and a residency at Poison, one of the most famous clubs in the city at that time, and finally Club Royalty, where he still wows crowds today.

DJ Willy’s strength lies in his versatility; his ability to kill it with any genre thrown at him. With 20 years of DJing under his belt, he’s played at every conceivable venue in the nation. From College fests and Afternoon Socials to Clubs across the country, Sunburn, VH1 Supersonic Goa, parties at the Khan’s (“Salman is a Retro freak!”), you name it and he’s been there. 

He infuses his sets with live acts like singers, percussionists, saxophonists, always experimenting to bring something new to the turntable.

Now in his fourth year with Club Royalty, where does Willy see the scene headed? “Music is always cyclical. But I think perhaps EDM has run aground,” he says. Trap (a genre of music that uses multi-layered synthesizers, grimy and rhythmic snares; and heavy sub-bass lines) is the new thing, he feels. 

But he staunchly believes that although we enjoy flirtations with other genres, every Mumbaikar will always be drawn back to his roots. 

“At the end of the day, it will always be Bollywood”.

The Mill on the Floss workshop took place over 5 days in January 2018, culminating in a presentation for industry professionals. We are looking for producers/co-producers and investors to secure a full production in 2019 to celebrate the bicentenary of George Eliot (Mary Anne Evans), the author of the novel on which the piece is based.

Coming from what many consider the most dangerous city in the United States, Camden NJ, started a dangerous music production company, CertiFYD Production Group. CertiFYD is a music production team started by 2 brothers turn partners, Jay and PI. This production team started out as musicians and later branched off to full production. When an opportunity presented itself up to produce for local artists, they decided to give it a shot in 2007 time frame. From that point on they found this hidden passion of production and haven’t looked back.
The reason why “CertiFYD” is spelled phonetically differently at the end is because they decided to brand their music company using FYD as an acronym as a daily reminder to always “FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS”.

Their journey in the music game has proven to be worthwhile with already having logged in work with artist like Keyshia Cole, Rick Ross, Glenn Lewis, Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, Bobby Valentino, Papoose, Remy Ma, Young Chris, Jawan Harris, Tyga, MTV to the late great Hip Hop legend Heavy D.
