With the mind of a diplomat and the musicality of a modern pop diva, Katrina Carlson is an artist with true mass appeal.  Her stirring, vibrant songs embody universal themes of love and strength that are central to humanity.  The critics love her albums, and so do Carlson's growing legions of dedicated fans.
   
Carlson grew up in Paradise Valley, Ariz., the youngest of 11 children.  By the age of 12 she was playing both piano and guitar, and composing songs to entertain her family.  Her early talents for songwriting and performance set the stage for Carlson's bright future. 

Initially, Carlson did not formally pursue a musical career.  She attended Brown University, where she majored in international relations, foreign policy and diplomacy.  After graduation, Carlson found herself at a crossroads.  Dealing with a recent family tragedy and feeling disillusioned by the political climate in Washington, D.C., she moved to New York for some "musical therapy."  Carlson earned admission into the Manhattan School of Music and Brooklyn College's opera program.  During this time, she expanded her creative repertoire and joined an Off-Broadway Cole Porter review amongst many other musical productions.  Carlson also appeared in the 1999 indie romantic comedy Special Delivery, and contributed two songs to the film's soundtrack.

In September 2001, Carlson released her debut record, Apples for Eve, with songs co-written and produced by Emmy winner Ron Cohen.  Soon after, Carlson's music started to spread its way throughout American culture.  Her music graced the soundtracks of television shows Dawson's Creek, Lost and Passions, as well as the feature film Go Tigers!.  As a result of these successes, Carlson was selected as a 2002 finalist in the Rolling Stone/Jim Beam Emerging Artist series. 

Carlson's second record, 2003's Untucked, contained four hit singles that spent a remarkable 18 combined months on the Billboard and R&R Adult Contemporary charts.  The romantic pop ballad "I Know You by Heart" is a powerful and moving duet featuring Benny Mardones -- best known for his 1980s hit single "Into the Night."  Follow-up tunes such as "Count on Me," "Suddenly Beautiful," and Carlson's skillful rendering of The Cars' classic "Drive" are musical gems that brought the album well-deserved praise including an award for "Best Independent Pop Album" at the 2003 Los Angeles Music Awards.  

After releasing Untucked, Carlson continued her sonic diversity by expanding her 1970s-era, soft-rock sound to include a deeper, edgier pop-rock sound.  This creative evolution has shaped Carlson's latest effort, Here and Now.  Produced by Ron Aniello (Barenaked Ladies, Guster, Lifehouse), the new record offers a lush collection of sweeping power ballads and upbeat pop tunes.  A major highlight is the title track, inspired by the moment Carlson first held her then-newborn baby, Ruby Rose, and mused over experiences and lessons learned in her own life.  In Carlson's words, "I look for the beauty in the good, the bad and the ugly alike.  I'm grateful and I count it all a blessing."

Here and Now's first single is a modern take on the Howard Jones classic "No One is to Blame," with a guest appearance by Jones himself on vocals and piano.  With songs such as "Be the One," "First To Say Goodbye" and "Lost," Carlson again demonstrates her enrichment as both an individual and a professional musician.  This growth is equally evident in the diversity of Carlson's live performances.  While on tour, she has opened for such artists as Kenny Loggins, Chicago, Eddie Money and Rick Springfield.  Priding herself in the ability to "mix it up" onstage, Carlson offers audiences everything from an unplugged acoustic show to a full rock band extravaganza.  "Lately, I've been throwing in snippets of opera!" Carlson added, laughing.  Carlson loves that her audiences include dancing teenagers, hip seniors and everything in between.

As a songwriter, the former actress explains that she envisions her songs as "mini-movies," complete with characters, storylines and plot resolutions.  Much like contemporaries Sheryl Crow and Natalie Merchant, Carlson views herself in various shades, and by that standard, Here and Now is a rainbow of textured life stories.  Many of the songs included on her new album lend themselves to use in film and television.  "Feel For Me" has already been tapped by the N-Network's "South of Nowhere," and will be featured in the first two episodes including the season premiere.

Carlson says, "I believe in personal responsibility; you own what is yours that way."  But she also realizes that behind every great musician is a dedicated team and a supportive family. Carlson has all of these gifts, which allow her to live life on her own terms.  "I used to feel like I was always rushing to the finish line, now I'm really trying to savor each moment and recognize everyday is a gift." she says.  This new album reflects that inner clarity that, for Katrina Carlson, truly is Here and Now.

I've trod a familiar musical path: piano as a kid, electric guitar as a teen, bands in my early twenties, (bad) electronic music in my mid twenties-thirties, lost interest for a bit, recently regained interest thanks to playing silly songs to mates around festival campfires and on the internet.
I work in the UK Civil Service but, more relevantly, am also a rep for the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union and a bit of a leftie, which has led to much of the stuff I've written of late. I try to keep things light and flippant rather than full on preachy though. A joke sticks in the mind better than a lecture.

All of this stuff's recorded in a north London bedsit, mostly using Reaper, a tascam US-144, an SM58 and a Rode M3. Cheapskate chic.


I am an artist through and through. I am a left handed illustrator, designer that writes, creates and sings. I believe in God, Jesus and that the Holy Spirit stays with me every second of every day I live. 

I always make it a deliberate effort to do the right thing. I find myself helping others more than I should, especially when it comes to those less fortunate. 

A lot of times on a Friday and/or Saturday night, instead of finding me singing at a bar or event, I can be found sitting around a bunch of homeless people singing songs and just talking about life. I do my best to make sure others know that Jesus loves them, but I do not "Pound the Bible". 

No one on this earth is better than I am, and I am no better than anyone else. I don't understand the term "illegal alien". We are ALL God's children and our land is not ours, it is GOD'S! Politics do not concern me, but you do. I may forget what you say or what you do, but I will never forget how you make me feel. 

I am extremely sensitive, almost too sensitive. We can never take back a first impression, so I try to make mine a good one. I pray every day for others and my heart truly hurts for those in pain. I believe anger is a choice and that madness starts with sadness. I do write music, but have no songs about Pick-up Trucks, Tractors or my dog. I do have two songs about mama. (I am a Mama's Boy, and damned proud of it). I primarily write about what matters most. Ballplayers make way too much money, I hate guns, I cannot stand people that talk only about themselves. 

I've done so many wrong things in my life, and I wish so much I could take those things back and make ALL my wrongs right, but I can't. And that sucks. 

I think everyone on this planet should win, there's more than enough to go around. The best part of my day is the very early morning, 4am-ish. And the other best parts are just before I eat, because that is when I automatically say my prayers. I sometimes forget about God and Jesus, but when I eat, I automatically say a prayer. 

I often tell God, "Lord, if I forget about you, please don't forget about me." I do not understand why we have to pray if God is always in control. I don't understand why so many horrible things happen. If there are no accidents, then why does the word exist? I DO NOT CARE what religion anyone is and I have nothing against anyone's spiritual beliefs. Every sector and every church has an end result...and that is to walk in The Kingdom of God. 

There's a million ways to the top, so we're just trying to find our own. I do not and will not stand for anyone picking on anyone else. I am a kind gentle soul, but if I‘m upset, it can get pretty bad. I'm not saying I'm a badass, but I will not stand for anyone doing anyone else wrong. 

I love to love and I hate to hate. I wrote a song, "Thanks to the Devil (I have found the Lord)", and that is so true. If it weren't for the mistakes I've made, I'm not too sure I would have been able to see the Light of God to help me through. I've seen what drugs and alcohol can do to us so I am proud to say that I now live a sober life. 

I have no family, Like so many, I've come from a broken family. There came a time that I had to ask myself, "If my brother, sister, father or mother weren't my family, would they be my friend?" And the answer is no in some cases. So, it's up to us to make a difference...with the Grace of God to lead us through.

So yes, say one for me...I will say one for you. I truly hope your today is better than yesterday, but not as good as it will be tomorrow.

Gadget (Everett Alexander) is a 25 year old electronic music producer and performing artist hailing from the DFW Metroplex of Texas.

Everett got his first guitar in 2002, when he was 10 years old. This simple step into the musical world was the start of something bigger for him. In 2006, at the young age of 14, Alex started producing music. Alex’s earliest work was never published. The earliest work was a solo project called Enigmata. Enigmata was focused on producing ambient metal and orchestral black metal music. A few of his influences at the time were bands like; Wolves in The Throne Room, Gojira, Dimmu Borgir, Devil Driver, Strapping Young Lad, Rob Zombie, Opeth and Katatonia.

At the young age of 15 years old, Alex formed a heavy metal band with some friends that he had met in high school and they decided to name it Katalystica. With no real sense of direction and facing the hardships of economic problems when trying to purchase equipment, the band fell apart, and they never made it to be show material or got published.

When he was 17 years old, in 2007, Alex joined another band and they decided upon the name Still Life (as an homage to Opeth’s influential album by the same title). Alex had decided to be the sense of direction for Still Life. His hope was to avoid the same problems that he ran into with Katalystica. Despite his efforts, the other members, both, lacked the motivation to get things done, and simultaneously disapproved of the amount of control that Alex exercised to do it himself. Eventually, the band dissolved without a strong formal breakup.

After Still Life, Alex became disillusioned with the local heavy metal scene and the professionalism within it. So, when he was 19 years old, he decided it would be better if he went back to working as a solo artist. Within the time that Alex had been playing with Still Life, he went to his first nightclub and became fascinated by the sonic capabilities of the digital equipment. It was at this time that Alex started listening to hardstyle and hardcore artists like Showtek and DJ S3RL. This was all happening around the time that the electronic music scene started to shift towards EDM. Artists like; Skrillex, Porter Robinson, The M Machine, and Mat Zo, also began to influence him.

In 2011, with new musical influences behind his work, Alex began to experiment with producing electronic music under the name Everett Alexander and started DJing at local house parties. He used this time to test the waters of the underground EDM scene, while also developing his own sound in this unfamiliar territory. This marked his slow transformation into Gadget, the Trance artist that you know today.

SAINT GOOSEBERRY - alternative electronic band from Moscow, Russia. Started in 2010 in Brest, Belarus by vocalist and songwriter Anatoly Kuris. Among other local bands the project immediately became to stand out with its explosive mixture of synth-pop, industrial and alternative rock. Fans of the project often compare their music with Depeche Mode, although, musicians themselves among the artists that made a great impact on their music name such as Queen, Killing Joke, Gary Numan, Nine Inch Nails, Faith No More, Yello (however, it's only a small part of the list). 

Few years the band spend on sharpening their own sound and on forming the general style of SAINT GOOSEBERRY. In 2014 Russian electronic music label Scentair Records released their first official web-single 'Perfect Pair'. Single also contains two extra remixes and a cover of 'Love To Hate You' by Erasure. Later they released another web-single 'Bad Guy'.

Now the band is working on their first full-length album that will see the light in 2015.

Echos of 80s New Wave bands mix with the darker underground music scenes to produce a guitar and synth-based retro-futurist sound for the 21st Century.

In Isolation's second album 'Shards' is out digitally in May 2020, followed by physical release CD in Septemeber.

In Isolation are four creative musicians and songwriters from Nottingham, with plenty of combined experience of touring the U.K. and Europe, playing the U.S. and much experience of studio recording.

Live shows have included direct supports with Desperate Journalist, Republica and ACTORS, and 80s bands Toyah, B-Movie, Naked Lunch and Balaam And The Angel.

Album one, ‘A Certain Fractal Light’ (now almost sold out) was engineered and produced by Gavin Monaghan, the man responsible for recordings by Editors, Babes In Toyland, Robert Plant and The Sherlocks.

Notable tracks from our debut - ‘Not Noticing’ and 'Elder Statesman': championed on local radio by Mercury Awards judge and BBC Introducing’s Dean Jackson. ‘Mist’: performed on local television channel Notts TV.

The band helped Nottingham's 'Framework' homeless charity in some tiny way by donating a track to its fund-raising vinyl record project.

Lead singer Ryan Swift was recently invited to speak at an international astrophysics conference at Liège University in Belgium to discuss the creative inspiration behind In Isolation’s track ‘TRAPPIST-1: A Space Anthem’ from the forthcoming album. The manager of NASA’s Exoplanet Exploration Program, Gary H. Blackwood, was "thrilled by In Isolation’s anthem".
