I wrote this song when I was a teenager. It was an early song for our band Girl Scout Hand Grenade. This version is a reimagining that features pieces of a remix created by my friend and former member of GSHG, Nick Paterson. He killed himself a decade ago so this resurrection was also a chance for us to collaborate again on a song that he loved. This song is still very topical even though it was written during the George W Bush era of America.  

Still a little rough and I may go back and redo some vocals.  


I will post the lyrics later. The song is about violence and war and blind patriotism that feels more like nationalism.

I wrote this song about one of my best friends. He hung himself. He took the wrong way out. Please get help. Take care of yourself. You are not alone. It might feel that way. Trust me I get it. I feel that way all the time but there is help. Keep going and don’t give up.

I used to play in a band called Girl Scout Hand Grenade (guitar,vocals, electronics) and I sang in a band named Shogun. I came up in the Flint, MI scene and after bouncing around a bit ended up here. This work is rough and currently 100% just me. I missed creating so this is born from that need. I plan to build a set and try to start performing again.
