A MidWest Charity is urging the people of Clare to undertake free training that will aim to prevent deaths from drug overdoses.

Last year, 171 people were treated for drug addiction in Clare and Novas is now offering 'naloxone training' to active users , along with their friends and family.

Naloxone is a medicine that's designed to reverse the effect of opioids and buy enough time for emergency services to reach the scene of a critical incident. 

Health and Respite Services Manager with Novas, Julie McKenna says everyone who can should get the training.

The first movement refers to the true story of the Austrian, mountain-climber man-friend with whom the young Dalai Lama became close before having to leave his lofty home in Lhasa. The second movement sees the tragic plight of the Tibetan people through the eyes of a caring youth--one responsible for their spiritual and physical welfare. The third is the vision of a triumphant return to the holy city, a dream that many of us have.
