A collective of friends recording music sporadically over the last 30 years. Recorded on everything from a tape recorder, four track, off the floor live recordings using one or two mics all the way up to recording in the home studio. Keeping that lo-fi, unpolished spirit since 1994. Songs featured are just a few of the hundreds of songs we’ve recorded over the years.

Mèraque was born from passion and curiosity. 

A passion for the Balkans, and a curiosity for what might happen when you mix these sounds with influences from Latin America and the Middle-East. 

Allow your body to fly on their energetic percussion, lively electronics, classic oud and the melancholic accents of clarinet. 

These elements merge into enchanting live sets full of improvisation, where the souls of the inevitably dancing audience and musicians connect.
