His work history includes co-founding the art collective BROOKLYN MEDIA LAB (2002-2004), writing jingles for radio, serving as music director for the animated online series WHIRLGIRL and songwriter for the Brooklyn "Kid-Indie" Rock Band AUDRA ROX.

The Damned and Dirty is one of the most exciting and innovative duos in the roots tradition. That set up does not mean the duo is a “smoothly playing in the corner, easy listening” kind of band. They rock, they roar, the slide guitar can scream, the blues harp can wail, and the vocals cut like a knife when needed in the songs. Listening to the songs and quality lyrics you will be impressed and think you ended up in a venue or festival in the south of the USA listening to one of the best American duo’s. Their English is American like it belongs there.

Never has the phrase “he shoots, he scores” been more applicable than when mentioning rabid hockey fan and chart-topping singer/songwriter John Ondrasik. The Los Angeles native, who goes by Five for Fighting (a five-minute penalty for on-the-ice fist-a-cuffs), burst on the scene some 15 years ago with his Grammy Award-nominated hit “Superman (It’s Not Easy),” and has been a mainstay on mainstream radio ever since. While he doesn’t wear tights and fight crime as his breakthrough track “Superman” suggests, his songs could bring any maniacal villain to their knees (and tears) with his poignantly sharp songs that cut deeper than a Ginsu knife.

Ondrasik signed his first deal in 1997 with "Message For Albert,” but it was his follow-up “American Town” that really took flight for Fighting.  The aforementioned “Superman (It’s Not Easy)” went Platinum (as did the album), was #1 on Adult Top 40, #2 on Hot AC, and in the Top 40 Top 10.  The song actually hit the airwaves, and reached #1 the same week his daughter Olivia was born. Not too shabby as Adam Sandler once said. Adding more fuel to the emotional fire, the mega-hit served as sort of an unofficial anthem following the 9.11 attacks on American soil. Naturally, he performed it at The Concert For New York City.

In his career, Ondrasik has sold over 2.5 million albums including 2004's “Battle for Everything,” which spawned the 2X platinum “100 Years,” which continues to melt hearts, provide all ages with an instant case of nostalgia.  Other hits have included “The Riddle,” "World," "Chances" and "What If." His music has been featured in 350 films, TV shows and advertisements ranging from the The Blind Side to Hawaii Five-O. He has also written tunes for everyone from Josh Groban to The Backstreet Boys. 

When not writing killer tunes, Ondrasik is putting pen to paper for his other passion: sports. The avid Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings fan has been a sports commentator for SI.com,  the Kings, and a guest on everything from Jim Rome to ESPN SportsCenter, the latter of which he became the first “band” to appear and perform.
“I recognize the immature shallowness of the adult sports fan obsession, but I've always had it. Lakers as a kid, UCLA, Kings etc...Many folks use music as their escape, I imagine sports as mine. Writing is a kick as I've always had a fantasy to be a sports reporter/writer,” he says gleefully.

As he explores the possibility of a Broadway show featuring his tunes, he’s currently on the road (not literally) performing songs as a quartet (Five for Fighting literally) and with symphonies around the country.  "The symphony and quartet shows have been fantastic,” he said. “I've had the honor of working with some world class arrangers in my career.  To present the more ambitious songs, as well as the popular tunes, in this format has refueled my passion for performing.”

...And making new music. Ondrasik's "What If" hit the Hot AC charts and was chosen by Richard Branson (sorry, Sir Richard Branson) as the soundtrack for his non-profit Virgin Unite.  And his most recent song "All for One" was penned for the 100th episode of Hawaii Five-O.  Ondrasik is currently working on the follow-up to his sixth album, Bookmarks.

Looking ahead while looking back, the one-man Fighting army, said, “I have been blessed to have loving and supportive parents, an amazing wife and partner, and two great kids. Family is crucial to any career, keeps the ups and downs, down and up.” 


Closed Eyes, formerly the producer from the celebrated duo I.Y.F.F.E, is rapidly gaining momentum having had several of these releases make it into Beatport’s top 10 across Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Electro and Glitch Hop. Closed eyes has been hard at work in the studio over the past year putting the finishing touches on a number of collaborations and original songs that will be featured in his genre-defying sets as Closed Eyes.Thanks to the support of his fans, music blogs and promoters such as the EDM Network, This Song Slaps, Dancing Astronauts and This Song Is Sick. He has been establishing more quality productions and motivation then ever and shows no sign of ever stopping.

Vök is a dream-pop/indie-electro band from Iceland.
Vök was formed in January 2013 to enter an annual band contest in Iceland, 'Músíktilraunir' (Music Trials).The problem? They didn't actually have any songs. Yet within a few weeks they were at the contest performing their brand new tracks. In a twist of fate (and talent) won the competition.

Vök’s sound mixes wistful electronics and melodic vocals, distant saxophones and reverberating guitars. Think The xx’s hypnotism, The Knife’s sexual tension and Poliça’s playful overdubbing.

A banda mineira Funky Fat produz uma contagiante combinação de house music com ingredientes do indie-rock. Como o nome da banda entrega, o ritmo é cheio de groove e se beneficia das características pulsantes entregues pelas linhas de baixo. Tal receita sonora pode ser conferida na faixa “Ride the City”, sucesso das pistas lançado pelo selo Outcross Records, de Miguel Campbell. Fora isso, Thiago Guimarães, Gui Santoro e Manu d’Alcântara vêm mostrando seu talento como no EP Masochist e tambem, na música “Fat Noise”, colaboração com Anderson Noise.

Já o EP autoral Jealousy, bancado pela Hot Creations, os apresentou ao cenário mundial em 2013, indo parar direto nos cases de grandes DJs, como Solomun, Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, Sasha, Joris, Voorn, Claude VonStroke, Phonique e M.A.N.D.Y. O som meio anos 1980, meio punk, meio funky conquistou logo de cara o interesse de Jamie Jones, dono do selo, que estava de passagem pela capital mineira para uma apresentação na cidade. 

As influências do grupo passam por nomes como Daft Punk, Strokes eThe Knife. Depois de serem apontados como uma das revelações vindas do Brasil pela DJ Mag inglesa, as músicas do Funky Fat têm sido uma constante na programação de diversas rádios europeias dedicadas à promoção da dance music, a exemplo da BBC1, BBC6, Ministry Radio e a Ibiza Global Radio.

Guilherme Santoro, Thiago Guimarães and Manu d’Alcântara are the names behind the brazilian band FUNKY FAT. They have been doing tracks that has the strong support of the ones like Solomun, Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, Miguel Campbell, Sasha, Joris Voorn, Claude Von Stroke, Phonique, M.A.N.D.Y, among others big players in the game.
