In my reclusion I now know the hectic downside of partying,
My hair is grizzled, why need I live in the drunken realm?
A gathering of monastic poets compose verses at leisure,
No worldly visitors at the gate, incense burns in the silence.
Birds roosting between the blossoms disturb the morning dew,
Oxen returning beyond the willows are tricked out in the sunset.
Whatever place or encounter, pure amusement is enough,
In the days and months by the village river, I have grown old.
