My Feeling (Work It Out Mix)

What happened on Friday was special to me. I have a feeling of closing a certain chapter in my musical journey, which started a long time ago when I was still a little boy and had a few turning points along the way. One of these was @dixon_ gig that my friend invited me to 11 years ago. At that time, I was hardly even an electronic music listener. However, after that set, I somehow felt connected with these sounds and understood that this might be the music that would shape my better understanding of self and become my musical background in day-to-day life from then on. At that time, I hadn’t even thought about being a professional DJ.

That is why, after receiving a proposal from @audioriver to join this year’s festival and open the Studio Stage with lots of great artists, including Dixon, I was astonished. Here, I realized that some cycle had ended. From a novice listener who was introduced to completely new sounds by Dixon himself to an artist who shares a stage with him. And as you might know, the result was different than expected. I opened the stage in the middle of a storm, and with time the weather only got worse, leading to the cancellation of Dixon's performance that night. But in the end, this was not important for the process I have been fulfilling, though I would have loved to see him play. I have been processing last Friday for the last few days. I got very emotional as, on the one hand, it is very heartwarming to realize the journey I went through and some end of it, and on the other, knowing that ends bring new beginnings, meaning I am full of excitement for what is yet to come.

At this point, I would love to thank everyone for sharing this journey with me. For every artist whose music I have listened to so far, which shaped me and my understanding of music through the years. For every listener of my performances. For every DJ that I have shared a stage with. For every person that inspired me with their passion for music. For all friends and family that added lots of love and support along the way and, once again, to the @audioriver team for believing in me and showing that I can be proud of my accomplishments and further believe in what I am doing, giving me more faith and energy to continue.

As a summary of this testimony, I have uploaded my set which was recorded live during my performance. A set that represents two aspects: a journey and a celebration. A journey as it has been just described, and a celebration, as every end of a journey should be celebrated to acknowledge to yourself the effort you have put in so far and welcome with a smile the new. A celebration as well, as I somehow wanted to leave the listeners with the feeling that the festival was just beginning and the following three days would be a representation of fun and happiness.
