Originally from Warwickshire, Ivy Ash grew up in the Midlands before moving to London in her late teens and France in her early 20s. She may still be young, but Ivy Ash has plenty of experiences to recount and stories to tell. “I think I must have been at least 22 before it felt like life wasn’t one big uphill struggle. Even so, I value every experience I’ve been through, good or bad, because it’s made me who I am today.” As a supporter of positive mental health, Ivy started to make music as a way of expressing her struggles and overcoming anxiety. “I hope my music helps others to find their true voice and confidence. Even if my work resonates with just one person, it makes it all worthwhile.”

Following the dazzling support of her debut single “Oops”, Ivy Ash is back with her second single “Rain Again.” Ivy explains, “this song is all about breaking bad habits and finding yourself.” This exhilarating floor-filler focuses on reflection and self- empowerment, accompanied by an energetic and playful music video. She continues, “it’s a bitter-sweet song, like crying and dancing at the same time, but with a glimmer of hope. Every cloud has a silver-lining. That pretty much summarises the way I communicate through music.”

Over the past 2 years, Ivy has been working intensively on her craft and has gained various achievements as a songwriter, including international radio play and BBC Music Introducing’s ‘Tune of the Week.' In early 2020, Ivy proudly gained ‘The Transmission Fund’ from Help Musicians UK to attend a Norwegian Songwriting Camp; and by 2021, Ivy had secured music funding from Arts Council England.

“I first performed this at Warwickshire Pride 2022 as a sneak peek into what I was working on at the time. It was only at the demo stage then. I’m so happy to finally get this song together to make it ready for release. It’s such a dance banger, and I’m really proud of the confident message that it shows. 

I worked with Norwegian producer and songwriter Jonas Jensen (from The Woods, Norway) on “Stop, Rewind” and we completed the whole project via Zoom, it was challenging but so much fun, and it’s always great to get a fresh set of ears on your music.”

"Oops" is the debut single from Ivy Ash (released 12th Feb 2021). The track has already been supported & played by Dean Jackson at BBC Music Introducing East Midlands and Brody Swain at BBC Music Introducing Coventry and Warwickshire.
