Today, I covered S2E7: The Older Woman, which aired on October 25, 1986.

In this episode Jamie falls for Harriet's 16-year-old cousin. I actually liked this one better than the last episode. Jamie lusting for an older woman who happens to be Harriet's older cousin, must be from Brandon's side because  16 year old Mary lacks the pale white skin and flaming red hair that Harriet has.

Jamie just reeks of desperation and comes off looking like a stalker when he tells Mary we can't fight it, it's fate for us to be together. He even goes so far to offer to brush her teeth for her, along with calling her, writing her and walking her to school.

Just STOP Jamie, damn!

Mary eventually has to sick her boyfriend on him to get Jamie to back off.

Surprisingly Vicki isn't really front and center with Jamie in this episode and is pushed off to the side plot with Ted constantly making repairs and adjustments to her after he tries and fails to use her as a generator to power the whole house when a storm knocks out the electricity.

Speaking of Ted who gets himself into hot water with Joan who overhears him give Jamie advice (the wrong advice) he let's it slip that he settled for Joan when he really wanted to bang her college roommate the whole time he was dating her.

The Fuck?

Ergo? Ted sleeps on the couch for one night, she finally forgives Ted, Joan is back to riding that "D".

In this episode Jamie has a dream that he's the boss of his parents.

Yeah, basically this whole episode is a stupid dream sequence more appropriate to an 8 year old than a 12 year old.

Small Wonder: S1E7: The Older Woman

Happy Wonder Wednesday Everyone,

Today, I covered S1E5: The Lock In, which aired on October 20, 2021.

in this episode Dean is reluctant to attend the annual church lock-in until Kim tells him it's where she got her first kiss; then he enlists his friends to help him pair up with Keisa.

This was a fun episode, I loved seeing Dean's other friends, the one  we haven't seen until this episode, Norman and loveable and adorable returning Hampton. We also met Charlene, the pastor's daughter. such a sweetheart.

When Kim let's slide that she got her first kiss 5 years earlier at the church lock in which is  basically a sleep over for boys and girls in a church that are twelve. YIKES!

Lillian their mother takes it upon herself to chaperone the event. Dean is so hoping he gets his first kiss with Keisa, however sometimes things don't always go the way we plan.

The Ten Commandments I found out is 3 hours and 40 minutes, never seen the movie, but I'd say needs more than a five minute intermission. Plus there are multiples versions of the film, including a really bad looking CGI animated version.

I love the little comparisons I pull put from this one to the OG The Wonder Years. I don't want to give any away here to spoil the episode ending.

In this episode when Coach Long and Bill take the boys on a camping trip as part of their newly formed scout troop, their starkly different approaches to the outdoors show Dean that his father isn't good at everything.

In this episode Bill comes up with a solution for Kim's car desires, but the solution is only pleasing to him; Dean is worried about seeming uncool when Clisby ends up chaperoning him and his friends.

The Wonder Years: S1E5: The Lock In

Hey Everyone,

Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast.

Today, I covered not one, but two episodes to catch up for missing March's episode.

S3E15: Bye Bye Brindles. which aired on January 23, 1988.

In this episode the Lawsons plot to convince the Brindles to move.

Brandon was such a dumb dumb in this episode. GAH! 
Not surprising, Bonnie is mentioned but not seen since the actress moved on to star in the show Valerie or Hogan Family or whatever they were calling that show at the time.

This episode was kinda meh.

and also I covered S3E16: For Sale By Robot, which aired on January 30, 1988.

In this episode Vicki accidentally sells the Lawson's house.

This was a bonkers crazy and hugely unrealistic episode (aren't they all) when it comes to selling a home, as well as the couple being what TV perceive as stereo typical Texans to be like.

I was embarrassed and I'm not originally from Texas, I've only been here 3 years.

Overall, I liked this episode more than the first.

this is my introduction episode where I give an overview of the show The Wonder Years that ran from 1988-1993 from the creation, casting, writing, to it's ultimate cancellation. I also discuss my plans for the future of this new podcast.

If you're a fan of the show The Wonder Years, Kevin & Winnie's on again off again romance that spanned six seasons,Kevin's allergic nerdy best friend Paul, homemaker extraordinaire Mom Norma Arnold, unspoken yet sometimes gruff Dad Jack Arnold, flower child hippie girl older sister Karen Arnold, pain in the butt bullish older brother Wayne Arnold as well as the happenings of the tumultuous 60's then this podcast is for you.

This is a biweekly podcast where I give you a double episode review  of my favorite episodes of each season, with segments like  Best Threads, Worst Person of the Episode on a scale of give em' a wedgie (the lowest) to "The BOOSH toilet swirlie (the highest) for the guys and bra snap (the lowest) to insult their cooking(the highest) for the ladies, Best Song of the Episode and my own Flower Power Episode Rating.

Looking Back On My Wonder Years : The Introduction Episode

Welcome Wonderlings, to the First Official Episode of Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast.

Join me your host Angela Bowen as I discuss Season 1 Episode 1 The Pilot which premiered om January 31, 1988 and Episode 2 Swingers which aired on March 22, 1988.

In the pilot episode we are introduced to 12 year old Kevin Arnold growing up in 1968. We see him navigating the rough waters of his first day of junior high school and also the unexpected death of a neighborhood friend.

The Wonder Years: Season 1 Episode 1: The Pilot & Episode 2: Swingers

Hello Wonderlings,

Welcome to another episode of Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. I’m your host Angela Bowen.Today I will be reviewing Season 1 Episode 3 My Father’s Office which aired on March 29, 1988 and Episode 4 Angel which aired on April 5, 1988.

In the episode My Father’s Office we see a young Kevin eager to know more about his father, go to work with him and  after he views his father in a whole new light.

Time for my Flower Power Episode Rating for Episode 3 My Father’s Office:

I’m giving this episode four out of five flower power petals

1-	For Take Your Kid to work day
2-	Kevin’s suit
3-	Kevin and Jack coffee break talk
4-	Kevin and Jack share a moment over the telescope in the backyard.
 I’m taking one flower power petal away because of Stan’s incompetence, making decisions without talking to Jack first putting him in hot water with his boss.

Season 1 Episode 4: Angel 
Karen’s continued disobedience and lack of repect leads to constant arguments with her parents. Guess who’s coming to dinner, when Karen starts dating college guy Louis, her sense of political views become warped by his overpowering influence, everything comes to a head when she invites Louis to dinner and he calls Jack out on his on his time serving in Korea referring to him as a brainwashed idiot, as well as all the pointless deaths currently occurring in Vietnam. Will Karen see Louis for who he really is, or will she be continue to be blinded by his radical ideals.

I’m giving it two out of five flower power petals

1 for Jack standing up and defending himself to Louis’s radical ideas.

2 for Norma sending that chicken flying into Louis’s lap being he’s a vegetarian and all.

I knocked off three flower power petals mainly for Louis’s attitude towards Jack and Norma and also for Karen defending her boyfriend instead of standing up to him.

The Wonder Years: Season 1 Episode 3 My Father's Office and Episode 4 Angel

The time has come Wonderlings to toss our caps in the air, Season 1 is in the bag, onward to Season 2, but before we do that, let’s take a moment and bask in the greatness that was Season 1 of the Wonder Years. 
 Reflecting on the awesomeness that was Season 1 even though there were only 6 episodes. In that short amount of time we fell in love with The Arnold family, uptight Dad Jack, homemaker extraordinaire Mom Norma, free spirit Karen, goofball Wayne, and the ever contemplative Kevin, nerdy best friend Paul and dream girl the one and only Winnie Cooper.  I can't wait to dive into Season 2 starting this Friday and see what the next season has in store for the Arnold family and friends.

The Wonder Years: Season One Wrap Up

Jumping into Season 2 Episode 1 Heart of Darkness where we see Kevin and Paul partake in some nasty habits of smoking, drinking, and lies, as well as spelunking (cave exploration)and a ghost story late at night in the woods after meeting bad boy Gary. Will Kevin be able to keep up with Gary's wild ways or will he realize he's just too much for Kevin to handle.

I also entertain with some ghost stories of my own, as well as my thoughts on peer pressure, underage indulgence of alcohol consumption, and tobacco use.

The Wonder Years: Season 2 Episode 1 Heart Of Darkness

 I’m your host Angela Bowen and I’d like to welcome you to the first episode of my new podcast Tea Time with Mr. Belvedere: A Mr. Belvedere Podcast. Today I will be discussing the pilot episode Season 1 Episode 1 Stranger in the Night which premiered on March 15, 1985.

I decided to do a Mr. Belvedere podcast because I love the show and grew up watching it in syndication in the 90s.
Mr. Belvedere is an American sitcom that originally aired on ABC from March 15, 1985 to July 8, 1990.

In the pilot episode we are introduced to the Owens family head of the household George who in the pilot episode works in construction, but later on would work as a sportscaster (to match actor Bob Uecker's actual career) Marsha who's in college working towards a degree in law and their three children oldest son 17 year old Kevin, 15 year old Heather and youngest child 9 year old Wesley. Each come with their own set of problems for Mr. Belvedere to help solve. With their parents at work and school the kids are overwhelmed with the added responsibility of taking care of the house.

Enter one Mr. Lynn Belvedere a british housekeeper sent by the agency to whip the house back into shape and bring order to the family.

 Can Mr. Belvedere adapt to the ways of The Owens Family, even naysayer father George or will he be sent packing?

Welcome to another episode of Looking Back On My Wonder Years with me your host Angela Bowen.

Today I’ll looking at Season 2 Episode 4 Steady As She Goes which aired on January 11, 1989. 

Kevin's continuing longing for Winnie has caused him to become frustrated with being alone. And it's not helping that his best friend, Paul, now has Carla. When Kevin reaches his breaking point, he ends up asking Becky Slater to go steady, even though it's just to make Winnie jealous.

Before we dive into this episode I have a special announcement as you all know next Wednesday June 21 aside from Prince William’s birthday it’s also the first day of summer and in honor of this day I want to kick things off with a bang so I’m giving you 3 summer episodes I’m jumping a head in time with Wonder Years Episodes S2E17 How I’m Spending My Summer Vacation which aired on May 16, 1989, S3E1 Summer Song which aired on October 3, 1989 and S5E1 The Lake which aired on October 2, 1991. Let’s celebrate summer time Wonderlings!!

I knocked off two for Kevin asking becky to go steady on a whim and for him erupting at his family, or maybe when he pushed past that couple on the ice rink or maybe for making Becky miss her bus ride home.



Who was the worst: KEVIN for many reasons stated above

Far out threads award goes to Winnie at the skating rink.

What I learned from this episode:

If you don’t like someone don’t ask them out just to fit in with the crowd or because everyone else is doing it, You’ll look like a jerk and also end up hurting someone who doesn’t deserve it.
