Emotionally very challenging song about the joint drug use as a method of escapism from harsh reality and troubles associated with everyday life. The initial title of this track was “The Golden Shot” which is a reference to the best know but rare method to commit suicide by the intake of drugs. However, it is not always easy to figure out if the golden shot was just an accidental intoxication or a real suicide (without a farewell letter left behind). Anyway, I lost a few good friends to drug abuse, and the entire Grunge Movement collapsed largely because of the drug addiction of its leaders. Somehow, deep inside, I felt obliged to write a song like this one… My drug of choice is gothism. Enjoy!

Kamil Walczak - ESCAPISM ON DEMAND (Alt.)

Kamil Walczak is a solo artist, session musician, songwriter and music producer, who works tirelessly on several projects simultaneously. His musical journey began in the early 1990s when he played drums as a session musician. In 1992-93, he was a bassist of the Polish coldwave band, A Herd Of The Rushing Vises, which broke up after recording a demo tape "The Bad Place” (1993). Since then, he has been writing lyrics, composing and arranging songs. Since 2019, he is associated with the Metronome School of Music and Recording Studio in New York City. Among his releases are: 4 EPs (“Obscured By Gothism”, "Alternative Obscurity", “Overblown By Animosity”, "Alternative Animosity"), 4 singles (“Never Say It's Over”, "Someplace Safe", "Take Me There!", "A Coldwave Summer Breeze"), the singles collection ("By Goth Means Essential..."), and 2 full-length studio albums ("By All Means Necessary...", "By All Means Alternative..."). He is currently working on his next gothic album ("The Torchbearer Of Gothism"), being also involved in other music projects (Em & Double-U, Hanging Graveyard, Bloodmooners, Em & Triple-U).
