Janel Jones is a vocalist whose expressive and powerful energy captivates audiences. Her sound is infused with many influences including jazz, funk, soul and R&B. She has performed at venues across the GTA such as The Flato Theatre, The Regent Theatre, Gate 403, 120 Diner, Mây Cafe, and many more. She has performed as a background singer for artists of varying genres including Kalsen Cheung, Miray and Rita di Ghent. She performed with the Etobicoke Jazz Band for two years and has been a featured guest of the Toronto All-Star Big Band. Janel successfully completed her BFA with Honours in music at York University, specializing in jazz voice with Sacha Williamson. Currently, Janel is working on a solo project and is performing in the Greater Toronto Area with her own group, as an in-demand vocalist.
