The Battle of Falkirk (22 Jul 1298) came up on my calendar a few weeks ago and I was inspired to create this. Whilst not Scottish by birth, I have served with a Scottish regiment and feel a strong kinship to them. The William Wallace monument (pictured) commemorates the Battle of Sterling 1297, which the Scots won. The 2 pipers (standard and uilleann)play from either side of the battle field, a fiddle bridge gives them a break then both pipers together play out the finale.
