I’m Jarno Sneller, aka DJ Straff, a gabber from the early days. Back in the '90s, I was already hitting the raves and started collecting vinyl. In 1995, I got my first turntables—Soundlab... which later became the legendary Technics SL-1200s that I still use today.

The first hardcore song I heard was in the school canteen back in 2010. The song goes by the name "The Voice of Mayhem" from Outblast and Angerfist. I was immediately sold for the sound.
An era of listening to millennium hardcore/ hardcore classics followed, and even hardstyle made from the early days till about 2014/2016.
So now and then, I listened to some early hardcore. But, 90% of the 90s stuff I listened was the happy hardcore radio stuff.

I have been visiting hardcore festivals since 2017. Never would I ever know that 1hour at the Thundergods (Thunderdome 25years) was enough to fully embrace the early hardcore! I also bought my very first CD at this thunderdome edition, because I bought too many tokens. The first album of many that followed.

My very first vinyl was also bought in 2017. A few months later, in 2018, my very first Turntable would arrive. After some time I discovered hardcore vinyl must be mixed. So, 2years later, I bought myself a second turntable and a mixer. Occasionally, I was trying to mix some songs, but it was not that serious.

... Until now! (2024)

Gabberhead records was originally founded in The Netherlands in 1995.
After bankruptcy in 1997 the label stopped leaving some classic tunes by MD&A, G-Town Madness, True Hardliners, Terrorizers, Gabberhead etc.
Now the legacy label is continued...Only the strong survive, Gabberhead is back!

This deejay got interested in house music when he bought his first techno/trance tape. After that he soon broadened his boundaries to real hardcore. After 8 months of hard, sweaty work at newspaper rounds, he was able to buy his first set of spinning wheels at the age of 14. And that was the birth of deejay Potato. As a regular visitor of the legendary route 66, B-fifty two and Platte Zaol, he also was throwing little parties himself in several different clubs in the neighbourhood. He started to perform more frequently, with highlights of that time like Raving Nightmare (Entangled in Chaos), Reversed and several others. 
In the year 2005 he got another chance at showing his skills at Raving Nightmare, this time in the legendary Tarm Center in Frechen/Köln (Germany). From then on he keeps growing and earns his spots at numerous events in he south of the Netherlands. His sets leave such marks, that he’s asked frequently to be a regular deejay at many events. 
All kinds of mixes are floating on the world wide web, in all styles you want to hear. So search for Potato and you will find some Early hardcore, Oldskool, Classics and Hardcore mixes you definitely want to have in your download collection. One thing’s for sure: Potato is the man who knows how to make the music into a story and simply knows what the crowd likes!
