With their feathered hair like Farrah Fawcett.
And the black folks with their giant afros.

If I’m in the 70s.

If I go to the skating rink
Will it be roller disco?

In local news, the Portland Metro area seems to be engulfed by a sense of love in the air.  Neighbors helping neighbors and friends and family all living harmoniously. On the sunset highway and countless side streets and back roads, there have been numerous reports of motorists dancing in the their cars to the beat of the music. like Vanilla Ice had descended on their bar.

Whew! Busted the Vanilla Ice moves.
On the stage, dude!
As the bar went crazy.

As I finished up that white boy rap
I felt like a I had a chance
because I did the song and dance
for those cowfolk, bam!

I wrote this song about a girl I know.

Growing up  in the 70s and 80s.
Had a tough time growin up in Spokane.
An absent father and an alcoholic mother.
Yea, she knew what it was to persevere.

She was married at age 17.
Two kids later, divorced at 19.
Had her third kid at age 21.
In another relationship with a struggling one.

This went on for 8 years.
Till she saw some fears,
He just couldn’t lay off the beers.

Now a single mom with 3 kids.
What an amazing job she did.

With street smarts and little education.
She started college, 30 years of dedication.
She still had to work and provide for the kids.
College start and stop, had to take care of her biz.

Wanting to provide a better life.
Better life, better life.

Inspired by my kids.
Growing for my family.
Earning and learning.
To provide for their needs.

Wanting to be a transitional fam.
Changing past legacy, oh man.
Thanking God for the wisdom.

Then came kid number four with her life partner.

Trying to get it done but it wasn’t happening.

Only pharma rep in the country, no degree.
With positive attitude, gutsy, and scrappy.
She pulls off those amazing things.

All while working her tail off. Yea.
To provide for her family.
