Irregularis Circulatio is a post-acousmatic piece that explores the concept of plunderphonics coined by Canadian composer John Oswald. The starting sound material derives from a series of musical experiences to which I wanted to pay homage. The piece tells the story of some rhythmic impulses that wander in various musical worlds in search of a system that can contain them and make them coexist. After several unsuccessful attempts, the impulses are ultimately able to find the system which is based on 'Euclidean subdivisions' of rhythm.

Irregularis Circulatio è un brano post-acusmatico che esplora il concetto di plunderphonics coniato dal compositore canadese John Oswald. Il materiale sonoro di partenza deriva da una serie di esperienze musicali a cui ho voluto rendere omaggio. Il brano racconta la storia di alcuni impulsi ritmici che vagano in vari mondi musicali alla ricerca di un sistema che possa contenerli e farli coesistere. Dopo vari tentativi fallimentari gli impulsi riescono in ultima istanza a trovare il sistema che è basato su 'suddivisioni euclidee' del ritmo.

This work takes its title from the famous piece by Jimi Hendrix "Purple haze"
and explores some of the possibilities offered by stubborn rhythms, this occurs alternating with phases of accumulation, phases of release and very relaxed phases, thus trying to create various plots between the timbres involved and a functional narrative. The starting sound material consists in sampling the sounds emitted by a prepared electric guitar.

Questo lavoro prende il titolo dal celeberrimo brano di Jimi Hendrix “Purple haze”
ed esplora alcune delle possibilità offerte dai ritmi ostinati, ciò avviene in alternanza con fasi di accumulazione, fasi di rilascio e fasi molto distese, cercando dunque di creare varie trame fra i timbri messi in gioco ed una narrazione funzionale. Il materiale sonoro di partenza consiste nel campionamento dei suoni emessi da una chitarra elettrica preparata.
