Meine persönliche Liebeserklärung an die kreativ verrückten, schiefen, schrägen eigenwilligen Gestalten in unserer Gesellschaft. An u.a. so viele noch unentdeckte Künstler und innovativ Andersdenkende, die es nicht leicht haben, oft ausgegrenzt sind und am Rande der Gesellschaft stehen.
Das Ganze in einem in einem eher jazzig-funkigen Stil, mit dem ich auch das Optimistische, die krummgewachsene unerschütterliche Lebendigkeit von jenen schrägen Vögeln besingen möchte, die mir bei meiner täglichen Arbeit begegnen.

My personal declaration of love to the creatively crazy, crooked, weird individual figures in our society. To so many undiscovered artists and innovative dissenters, among others, who do not have it easy, are often excluded and stand on the fringes of society.
The whole in a rather jazzy-funky style, with which I would also like to sing about the optimistic, the crooked, unshakable liveliness of those weird birds that I encounter in my daily work.

With this song process my growing concern about the increasing strength of right-wing populist parties such as the Afd. With the sound and the lyrics I want to draw musical attention to the ever more manifest threat and the creeping (re-)spread of "brown", xenophobic thinking. It is important to me to make a clear statement here and I hope that other musicians will do the same.

Die Frau, die er dort trifft, ihr Blick, dem ich begegne, weckt mich schlagartig auf. Ein Song über den Zauber des unmittelbar sich verliebens, den damit verbundenen Glücksgefühlen und neuen Lebensfreude. Aber auch ein Gleichnis für das Leben an sich, in dem es wieder Phasen von Stillstand geben kann, in denen aber oft unterschwellig der Keim für einen Neustart, Aufbruch, vorankommen liegt.

Spring in Berlin 1987. I feel trapped, my life seems to stagnate. I don't have any initiative, I feel determined by others. To go with that, that a friend takes me somewhere. The woman he meets there, the look I meet, wakes me up suddenly. A song about the magic of falling in love immediately, the feelings of happiness and new joie de vivre associated with it. But also a parable for life itself, in which there can be phases of stagnation again, but in which the seed for a new beginning, departure, often lies subliminally.

In a distant land far away from Lamplight Village, another story has been unfolding.  Dolores and her younger sister Katie have been running for days, escaping the soldiers that took away their family and friends back home.  It all started when the Army of the Dark Witches appeared and attacked the city they lived in, resulting in massive casualties.  Immediately after the coven’s attack, the government announced that they would purge all magic users from the city, which really meant execute.  Like their parents, the two sisters were born with magic in their blood, a curse which followed them their whole lives, and the catastrophe only amplified their shame.   Not all is hopeless though.  A secret radio transmission from a powerful sorceress named Scarlett is what brought them here today, to Forgotten City.  Scarlett promised a Safe Haven for all magic users if they could reach her.   The soldiers are closing in on the two.  Will they make it to Safe Haven?

On one of my numerous hitchhiking trips I met "Poinariu" (name changed...), a then 40-year-old Romanian who fled from Bucharest via Paris (the place where I met them) to Berlin before her violent husband with her young German lover. We hitchhiked back to Berlin together and there I supported "Poinariu" in her attempt to free herself from her repressive husband. At our meetings I saw how she blossomed and began to live her own freedom. And yet, as it went on, I had to watch as she was gradually being haunted and captured again by the "Spouse Demons" from within. One day she didn't come to an appointment and left me only a text message that she would return to her husband. I never saw her again. 

At the end of the song "Poinariu" (...or Freedom and Violence), I shout out her name several times sadly; my pain that she has reversed again just before the goal. At the same time, however, the acoustic lead guitar that finally sets in announces my never-ending hope that women can free themselves from male violence and that in the meantime I have also been able to accompany some who have made it permanently!

This chanson by George Moustaki is one of my other French musical love relationships that still accompany me today. Whenever I run the risk of falling into self-pity, I listen to this wonderful song and find access to my loneliness anew. And then I experience again, how important it is to be intimate with her, in order to make the right decisions for me and my life. This also applies to songwriting, among other things. When I talked about women with men in the past, I often thought there is something wrong with me. There was boast of how the women were conquered and laid up. I can still hear some of those pompous and bragging sayings today.
I, on the other hand, was always more of a shy man who felt attracted to autonomous, intelligent, sensitive and unconventional women. Women who lured me out of my poetic snail shell rather than the other way around.
And this song tells of my first encounter with such a wonderful woman in Berlin in the 1980s.

A spontaneous cooperation between me and my beloved son Freddy. Almost in one take. Yesterday, Friday, 1.3.2019, we felt like singing about the upcoming spring with an eight year old song of mine (to be heard on my SC account on my private album "Talibu" in a still quite lamented version). Freddy on the percussions and me on the guitar and singing.  
And for me a relaxed return to the basics (simply guitar, vocals and percussion) in view of the sometimes more and more complex tracks that have come to my mind lately. And also a song with a rather optimistic mood, which is a bit in contrast to my rather melancholic songwriter disposition.

Loving Psytrance (and Psybient) genres for dynamics, pressure and overall coolness. I've being trying to learn it for some years now. Posting first time, thinking remix is a good opportunity. Original track by Stan Kolev is Progressive House (stems provided for remix comps at Metapop. I like mix with stems vs. finished song. Though here I used FX and vox stems from original. Drums and bass and synths are mine :). Remixing is good for you - you learn and find your own sound faster! 

If you approve of it I keep making my Psy tracks. For now start with remix post. If it's good - it's not my credit, if not - not my fault neither :P LOL  Original stems by Stan Kolev (used most of FX and vox). The main drums, bass, synths are mine from Moog, Arturia and Korg. Ableton Live 10, IK Multimedia.

This song is about the counterpart to love: hatred and the associated need for revenge and retaliation. 
Another collaboration with my son Freddy (played parts of the guitar and percussion). And my attempt to play the piano as the main instrument and to accompany my singing with it.

How can one attain immortality? Certainly not by conquering death at some point. To have to die is an inevitable part of being human. But nevertheless something of us can live on after we have died. Be it in our children or in our music or our lyrics. And an essential reason to publish my lyrics and my music on SoundCloud and other music portals is exactly that: To continue to be heard and read, even if I have been dead for a long time.

Bien, mal (Lluvia vieja)

Deutscher Singer-Songwriter über fünfzig Jahre alt. Seit fast vierzig Jahren schreibe und singe ich Lieder. Mein Hauptinstrument ist die akustische Gitarre, aber ich mag auch Perkussionsinstrumente (Cajon, Maracas, Gurio). Ich liebe es, melancholische und poetische Balladen zu komponieren. Aber manchmal schreibe ich auch (schwarze) humorvolle Songs, Jazzstyle und -Rocksongs. Meine Hauptsprache ist Deutsch. Aber in Zukunft will ich mehr Songs auf Englisch und vereinzelt auch Französisch schreiben.
In meinen Kompositionen bin ich inspiriert von Leonard Cohen, John Lennon, Jacques Brel, Van Morrison und Bob Dylan. Auf meinen Platten spiele und singe ich alles alleine. Meine Vision für die Zukunft ist es, Musiker aus verschiedenen Kulturen zu finden, die gerne ihre Tracks mit mir teilen wollen.
Mein persönliches Mantra ist ein Satz, der von Paul Mccartney auf dem Beatles-Album "Abbey Road auf dem Track "In the end" vor fast Fünfzig Jahren geschrieben wurde:

Die Liebe, die Du bekommst ist gleich der Liebe, die Du gibst.

German singer-songwriter over fifty years old. For almost forty years I have been writing and singing songs. My main instrument is the acoustic guitar, but I also like percussion instruments (Cajon, Maracas, Gurio). I love composing melancholic and poetic ballads. But sometimes I also write (black) humorous songs, jazz style and rock songs. My main language is German. But in the future I want to write more songs in English and occasionally also in French.
