It's Thelonious-Panarlberg-Guybrush-Threepwood-Monkday! Commander Fullyard and myself had been snacking on this one since April 2021. More than happy that we finally got our baby born! While mighty Fullyard has done all the freaking magic he is famous for, my contribution was mainly about nonsense ideas such as playing the Theremin and sampling blowing-over-beerbottle sounds. Thank you a million times Stefan for this adventure, your stamina and all the wolves! The result is far beyond expectation; retrospectively it was clear however that things would be damn cool --- synchronized hairstyles obviously go hand in hand with synchronized vibes.

La F. R. de 1789 est considérée comme l'un des tournants politico-sociaux les plus importants de l'histoire européenne. Elle a aboli le pouvoir absolutiste et les prérogatives de la noblesse et de l'Église et les a remplacés par l'état civil. Les causes de la R. F. étaient de profonds malaises sociaux et économiques (famines, insolvabilité de l'Etat). L'élément porteur de la F.R. fut l'Assemblée nationale française, qui adopta en 1789 la Déclaration des droits de l'homme et du citoyen. En 1793, les objectifs de la F.R. furent résumés en un mot-clé dans la revendication de Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité (Lien interne:Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité) et devinrent un slogan qui fut porté bien au-delà de la FRA et eut des répercussions dans presque tous les États européens. The F. R. of 1789 is considered one of the most important political-social turning points in European history. It abolished the absolutist rule and the prerogatives of the nobility and the church and replaced them with the bourgeoisie. The reason for the F. R. were profound social and economic grievances (famines, insolvency of the Internal Link:State es). The French National Assembly, which adopted the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen in 1789, was the supporting element of the F. R. In 1793, the goals of the F. R. were summed up in the demand for Internal Link:Liberty , Internal Link:Equality , Fraternity (Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité) and became a slogan that was carried far beyond FRA and had an impact in almost all European states. The ban on the slogan in the Prussian Rhine provinces continues to have an effect today in the civic carnival and the magic number ELF (Égalité, Liberté, Fraternité), which could not be banned: Why else should the revolt of the fools (= citizens) always start on 11.11. at 11 o'clock 11?

RÉSISTANCE

Blueprint for track that became 'Sandycove Milk'.

Inspired by wondrous music by Conin, whose track 'Kitty's Wake' reminded of the rich clay of Joyce's 'Finnegan's Wake'. This track, about the opening pages of Joyce's Ulysses, borrows coffee spoons, forever those of T.S. Eliot, in an effort to add sweet milk...drawn from the milk-well of honeyed Sandycove.  The lyric speaker is, notionally, Stephen Daedalus. For practical purposes, the lyric speaker is James Joyce himself. His aim? To hit Haines for a guinea [a pre-decimal unit of currency] before heading to France on a ferry. Whilst Haines still feels guilty (sheepish) about having fired his pistol at an imaginary cat he thought he saw in the fireplace in the Martello tower in Sandycove (now the Joyce Museum....a sacred...magical place, whose attendant Joyce scholars told me about the Haines' imaginary cat episode....it is all true...yet also dovetails eerily with the first chapter of Ulysses).

The reference to Haines having consumed Absinthe is a narrative fiction, invented to offer an explanation for his dangerous behaviour. No peer reviewed evidence capable of demonstrating Absinthe has hallucinogenic properties, exists, to my knowledge.

I really like the YMO song "Perspective", composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto with lyrics by Peter Barakan. It's a rare song where Sakamoto takes on vocal duties, and it's one of YMO's later songs where Sakamoto's solo style is very strong. The simple yet profound lyrics really resonate with me, expressing the happiness and cruelty of everyday life, that is, the act of living. We are all torn apart right now, each one of us. If I were to add something to these lyrics, it would be 
"Every day, I drink a cup of coffee

Back in 1981, there was a major news item on the front of the tabloids involving two young teenagers who had committed suicide in a car. They left a note saying that there was no point in carrying on living as they had no job and no money. Unemployment was the highest it had ever been at that time, so it made the headlines. This song was my comment. There was nothing great about the Thatcher government and yes, I was there. (Terry Reeves)

Final Choice - Root Division (1983)

Challenge was to make one of my shorter songs with one of my longer lyrics, so I 'had' to craft it into an amalgam of 9/4 and 4/4 signatures. Thus, it may feel crazy on verses but I hope also catchy on refrains.
