Deep

Number 3 of the Toondichten series. Like the previous one, this poem is by Max Temmerman. It is taken from his third bundle, Zondag Acht Dagen. Unlike the previous track this is not read by Max himself, but by the actor Gene Bervoets. The poem Handen Lezen (reading hands)is part of an audio book on which Gene reads poems by Max. I tried to juxtapose the intimacy of his voice with fairly naked and straightforward techno. Because contradiction is the way to move forward. Synths used: model:cycles, Behringer RD8, Korg Wavestate, Oberheim Matrix 1000.

What started as a Jamuary 2019 diversion turned into an obsession to flip "Warp Factor 84" into a finished CeeZED synthwave piece. Took the tracks from a DAWless jam, added seasoning through Roland Cloud and my Roland System-8 vocoder, applied my meager mixing and mastering skills. Gear: Novation Peak and SLMkIII controller/sequencer, Roland System-8, Roland Cloud TR-909, Eventide H9 MAX, Moog Minitaur. Available on Bandcamp and HD video on YouTube.

Rendition of the Doctor Who TV series theme originally by Ron Grainer and Delia Derbyshire. Performed on the Jupiter-Xm, sequenced by the Novation SL MkIII controller. The “sting” comes from the Novation Peak and the Roland | Studio Electronics SE-02 provides the vortex sound.
