Naztre is a Native American Hip hop artist, entrepreneur, and poet. He was born April 26, in Tuba City, Arizona. A small town located on the Western Navajo Nation in Northern Arizona. Most of his childhood was spent on the Navajo Nation until his parents’ divorce. Thereafter, he moved back and forth between his parents and found it difficult to adjust. His mother relocated to Page, Arizona while his father remarried and resided in different areas of southern Arizona, which included the San Carlos Apache reservation and Casa Grande.
 Gone were the days of stability and living within his native community where he once fit in. With his father working out of state for months at a time and living with his father’s new family, Naztre became isolated. 

“I felt like I raised myself. My family became separated and I didn’t want to tell anyone that I was missing my home, my mom, or my siblings. I didn’t speak to anyone in my class and I was treated as an outsider. I wasn’t the same as them, race or social class.” 

Naztre found himself getting into trouble in class for drawing and writing down his thoughts on life. He took refuge in his writing and unknowingly began to compose songs and lyrics. This became his solace from a path leading down a road of gang activity, drugs, and violence. His lifestyle was beginning to take its toll. Naztre was at a crossroads. As a young man needing to survive he was determined to overcome his challenges. Then it happened…he found his calling and discovered his talent for Hip Hop music. As a writer and artist he is able to reflect back on his past while forging forward. He has a new family in Hip Hop and takes comfort in being able to share his thoughts and experiences through music.

Stereotypes are made to be broken. Steven Cooper has been breaking the mold of a typical rapper since the early 2000's when he appeared with Tech N9ne on the anthem "Broken Chains". Fusing pop and hip-hop elements with aggressive delivery and exceptional lyricism, Cooper has built a full time music career one fan at a time. Known as one of the hardest working indie's in the hiphop scene, Cooper has become a seasoned performer (over 500+ live shows), a prolific writer (features with Akon, Tech N9ne, and more) and an influence for many indie rappers through his company Unlabeled Records. 

Steven’s hit song “Bigger” features Akon and, at the time of its release, broke into the top 100 downloaded singles on iTunes. His single "Born To Do" also charted on the Top 100 on iTunes after being used in the 2015 NFL Pro Bowl as the opening and ending credit song. He has been featured alongside notable artists such as Tech N9ne, Kid Rock, David Cook, MC Hammer, Naughty By Nature, Bubba Sparxxx and many others. Cooper’s catchy anthems have been featured nationally on ESPN, FOX, CBS, MTV, VH1, ABC Family, and many more. He has performed both nationally and internationally at distinguished venues and festivals. 

Born in the Midwest, Steven was raised by his young mother. His father disappeared before Steven was born. When asked about his upbringing, Cooper recalls growing up in a home surrounded by sex, drugs, violence, and addiction, which eventually left his family homeless. He dealt with depression and anger issues in his teenage years as a result of his tumultuous upbringing and the fact that he was bullied in school. He began to write lyrics and eventually found an outlet to his peers. This is when Steven discovered that his music and drive could transcend barriers such as race and classism. From there, he decided to focus on his art and promised himself that he wasn’t going to be a part of the same vicious cycle of his family and friends. 

An artist who is down to earth, kind, caring and extremely humble, much of Steven’s music addresses the fact that he does not quite fit into the hip-hop scene or any other mold. He can’t be anything other than one hundred percent authentic. An emcee that looks more like he may be a pop star in his fitted jackets, cardigans and ties, Steven also doesn’t resemble the recent wave of indie, hipster hip-hop artists. His song “Born To Do” talks about this struggle and the fact that he is not willing to give up on his dreams. His lyrics say “Every new day, every new night. This is my stage, this is my fight. This is what I was born to do.“ Steven Cooper is true to himself, and this is part of what makes him stand out from the crowd.
