WOOD SHAMPOO'S CRACK, CRACK HEART ATTACK, mastered by Bob Ludwig, is an unabashed, gloriously simplistic and yet many-colored rock & roll tour de force that verges on punk and alternative in a way only NYC bands seem to get. And yeah, the list of cats who jammed on the record will make founder Murph Daniels blush when asked in person but, one thing is clear: the cavalry saluted and for an hour or so rock & roll is alive and well again!

Good times aside, at its core, CRACK, CRACK HEART ATTACK is a collection of pop-routed gems of the guilty pleasure variety that so few seem able write any more. Almost rock for rock’s sake and steeped in a proud tradition of dirty secrets, hedonistic pleasures, coy turns of phrase, tasty guitars, enigmatic vocals & edgy hooks; CRACK, CRACK HEART ATTACK is a tight snapshot of an unblemished rock spirit who could hold it back no longer.

Ex-Party Horse and snake-hipped Junks frontman ECTOPLAZM is on a mission to bring retro-wave and tasty synth revival cuts to the masses. Blonde-haired, funkily dressed and never without his trusty baseball cap, ECTOPLAZM likes to keep one foot in the past and the other firmly in the future. 

As the frontman of defunct trash-pop duo Party Horse and now dystopian-synth band Junks, Ectoplazm is in thrall to all things neon, 80s and retro, and his fun-loving DJ sets are full of arpeggiated synth lines, punchy drums and songs that soundtrack your retro-futuristic dreams. 

Based in Hangzhou, Ectoplazm is part of the city's growing party scene and has performed in his various musical guises at some of China's biggest music festivals, including MIDI and Strawberry Music Festival.

I'm an awesome gentleman, who likes nothing more than battling Naruto with the right man (or men - love is such a beautiful rose that no man shalt suppress the branches that doth sprawl.).

I work as a artist, helping old people. This allows me to exercise my skills: drawing and eating. My idol is Yogi Bear. When I'm struggling with my job, I think of Yogi Bear and feel inspired to continue. I once saw Yogi Bear at a petrol station, so I feel we have a deep connection - almost spiritual, like the mist on an autumn day, or similar.

My life goals include:

NATURE BOI are a London-based jazz quartet. Their diverse set of intimate and original arrangements of both well-known and neglected standards feature the vocals of HEIDI HEIDELBERG - a classically-trained singer from the suburbs, with moments of self-delusion and thus a tendency to beatbox. Shaven-headed guitarist BORIS LATINOV hails from Switzerland (and the rest of the world) and brings a European sensibility to his melodious and instinctive improvisation, and if you listen closely you may hear him sing. His iconic earings glint in the limelight. JAMIE BENZIES - electric bassist in the up-and-coming jazz/hip-hop ensemble ‘Psylus’ - cannot be long apart from the resonant caresses of his double bass. Watch his curly locks tremble as he climbs virtuostically across the fingerboard. TIM DOYLE - drummer and vibraphonist has found many pies to dip his fingertips and various sticks into. Even if it's some non-descript steak 'n' ale, he will re-season it and give it a glorious gourmet garnish.

Together NATURE BOI's sound is at once traditional and idiosyncratic, subtle and passionate, and crucially never sacrificing quality for the joy (and, dare we say, fun) of playing jazz.

It started with an elementary school marimba band. What followed was a high school career absorbing Coltrane and Scott-Heron, a degree in Ethnic Studies, a marimba duet with an Ewe drummer, and a stint immersed in Buenos Aires’ burgeoning Digital Cumbia scene. This is the path that has lead now-Portland-based musician Joshua Fulfs to where Palmas begins.

Weaving dense African and Latin percussion and warbling synthesizers into dance-demanding beats all filtered through an unwavering pop ethos, Palmas is a discussion is counterpoint. Club ready production is pulled from organic and roughly hewn casts, electric guitars blend effortlessly into walls of samples and joyful melodies mask jaded lyrics about vacuous romances, wasted youth, and aimless summer nights. All this leads Palmas to find a different answer to the all too hashed-over question of where “world music” and “pop music” intersect.
