This is the fifth stand-alone EP from him for Electric Deluxe, on top of his last LP ‘Comedy Of Menace,’ and offers three more exquisite samples of what the techno veteran does best. Almost a counter-point to Fixmer’s last EDLX release-the dubby, warmed through ‘When The Sun’ EP-’Bells’ is a homage to the pitch black dance floors of the night, with all his hypnotism and industrial hues in place. “Bells” opens right in the thick of it, with alarm knells and viscous vapours swirling round a lasso loop that will hook you until sunrise. “In Chains” is it’s raw cousin-just as dark, unsettled, and riled with analogue sounds. But as midnight begins to dip into eternity, closer “Subspace Two” offers up a lasting sunny reprieve. The EP ends on a serotonin-soaked moment where dub, techno and house close their eyes and sway as one. ‘Bells’ is a versatile record, which sees Terence Fixmer cater for every nocturnal occasio

Manchester-born, Berlin-based producer Setaoc Mass returns to his own SK_Eleven imprint with his third outing on the Cycles EP. Here we see the artist’s propulsive brand of techno take on an extra dynamic, starting with the muscular, mind-warping drive of ‘Cyber’ taking control, ‘Kunfus’ reverts back to a highly purified, galvanising techno groove, coalescing crisp percussion and a perpetual stomp to devastating effect, whilst turning over the sci-fi indebted 'Structured Deceit’ adds to the strong release with its mesmerising melodies and ceaseless energy. Finished of by the more downbeat, reverb-drenched, insulated mindset of ‘Escape From You’.

Another intriguing release by one of France’s most distinctive and prolific electronic music artists is coming out on CLR. On the present EP Terence Fixmer delivers three brand-new tracks which vibrate with imagination, quality and depth, proving once again why he has been at the forefront of the Techno scene for more than ten successful years. The first track and a-side of the vinyl entitled “Psychik” is a straight forward, ruthless piece of Techno, fulfilling each and every need of the dancing crowd. With its dark, hypnotic and unrelenting vibe it simultaneously challenges, pleases and releases body and mind. “Psychose” is the more moderate but equally strong counterpart, carrying on the deep and mesmerizing atmosphere of its predecessor. The slower groove leaves loads of space for the individual elements to unfold and every single sound acts and shines with its particular texture. And if this would not be enough, in the third track of the EP Terence Fixmer surprises with a completely different facet of his versatile musicianship. “Lovesick” is not only another slick production but also features the sensual and haunting vocals of Cormac, resulting in a unique Techno song which talks about love and pain in a very personal, disarming and poetic way.
