This loop pack and template for ableton was designed with the intention to be able to produce and perform high vibrational music within the realms of 3 of my favourite genres: AMBIENT, SOUND JOURNEYS and SHAMANIC DOWNTEMPO MUSIC.

The main focus was to create a deep dreamlike, ceremonial and meditative atmosphere thus a lot of the sounds got a special sound design treatment. Again I wanted to be able to play within the polarities of light and dark so you can choose whether you want your tracks to be light, magical and gentle or dark, mystical and eerie.

Ecstatic Dance Journey by Magic Vibes

The Garifuna Collective is a group of musicians of African descent, living in central America and the Caribbean.

The song “Uraga (Story)”, off their 2019 'Aban' Album, blends guitar, Garifuna primero drums, turtle shells, and conch shells to create a steady, percussive beat.
I've chose to add both African and Latin elements to the remix to make it more dance-able.

More about the meaning of the song:

The oral history of Garifuna culture is kept with songs. Garifuna songs are most often telling a story, recounting a specific event that marked the songwriter. Sometimes however, there are more than one side to the story! In Uraga, the woman is responding to a story that was told about her. Early in the morning as a party is dying down, she tells people she wants to set the record straight. She is worried that her story will end, incomplete. The ending of the song explicitly highlights the tension felt within the oral culture when stories go untold, as the group vocal sings “this is where the story will end” while the lead vocal answers, “is this really the end?”
