Acoustic Ocean began with the collaboration of two veteran musicians and recording artists, Peggy Morgan and Bette Phelan.

After a successful touring career that spanned 20 years, Morgan and Phelan relocated to Hawaii to pursue careers in the healing arts.

In 2008, they formed Acoustic Ocean, which features Celtic harp and acoustic guitar. Their music is regularly heard on SiriusXM, Music Choice, Pandora and many other venues.

In 2009, Acoustic Ocean released their debut album, Light Returning. The recording was well received by New Age radio DJs and listeners worldwide. It received widespread airplay and was on the Top 100 Zone Music Charts for 7 months, reaching a top position of #8. It was nominated for five Zone Music Reporter awards, including Best Album of 2010.

Reflections on Still Water was released in July 2010. It was on ZMR Chart for 11 months reaching a top position of #3. The album was nominated for Best Contemporary Instrumental album and was chosen as a Top 10 Pick for 2010 by RJ Lannan, a staff reviewer for Zone Music Reporter.

Chimes of the Spirit, released in 2013, entered the ZMR Top 100 Chart at #3 for February and went to #1 in March. It spent 7 months on the ZMR Top 100 Chart, was #9 for the year of 2013, and was a finalist for Best Instrumental Album – Acoustic.

Blue Moon Rising was released in November of 2018, the first release since the death of Peggy Morgan. It entered the ZMR Top 100 Chart at #4 in November and went to #3 in December. It qualified for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album and Album of the Year.

Divine Grace, Acoustic Ocean’s fifth album, is scheduled for release March 1, 2023 which would have been Peggy’s 73rd birthday. It features 14 compositions comprising an hour of music. There are 12 original guitar compositions by Bette Phelan and 2 original harp compositions by Peggy Morgan.

Morgan & Phelan
Morgan & Phelan, a singer/songwriter duo, toured together for 20 years performing hundreds of concerts from Boston to Brisbane. They were featured performers with Connecticut’s Directory of Touring Artists during the 1980s, playing at festivals, community concerts, coffee houses, and on radio and television. In 1988, they were invited to perform at World Expo in Brisbane, Australia, where they performed 72 concerts in the final month of the Expo. They released four recordings of original music, as well as an album of traditional American songs and stories which was part of their program of American History through music presented in schools throughout the country.

Bette Phelan
Bette Phelan is a musician, composer, recording engineer, and visual artist. She has recorded, mixed, arranged, and mastered all five of the Acoustic Ocean albums, as well as doing the jacket design.
Bette is a Certified Kripalu Yoga teacher who has practiced yoga for 45+ years. She was the Senior Yoga Teacher at the Four Seasons Resort / Hualalai, where she built the yoga program, and taught for 23 years. She is also a Transpersonal Hypnotherapist and Stress Management Counselor.
