23 is the first single of the new Lucky Iris era. The track is about the stress of getting older but somehow feeling younger than ever. A feeling which at times seems silly and all-consuming but it’s there all the same... Written and produced by the pair, mixed by Richard Wilkinson (Adele, Kaiser Chiefs) and mastered by Antony Ryan (Oh Wonder); ‘23’ is the mesh of the duo’s love for hyper-pop hooks and the quintessential age of British indie music. Supported by Help Musicians and released through Launchpad+.

Leeds alt-pop duo Lucky Iris have announced their new single ‘oh no (i guess i did it again)’, a defiant, pop punk open letter exposing the ugly reality of following the beautiful game for women and LGBTQIA+ supporters. 

Following the more downtempo, contemplative feel of previous single ‘23’; ‘oh no (i guess i did it again)’ pairs the pop punk empowerment of Avril Lavigne with snarling synth breakdowns reminiscent of Sleigh Bells in a three minute anthem that lays bare the difficulties that female and queer football fans face every day. Much of the accompanying video was shot at OOF Gallery located in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and with the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup fast approaching, lifelong Spurs fan Maeve needs you to know that whatever the result, ‘this is harder on me than on you.’

Leeds based alt-pop duo Lucky Iris return with their new single ‘blowing kisses’ (July 7th), taken from their eagerly awaited upcoming EP ‘maybe i'm too much’ (August 11th), their latest expression of lessons learnt in love and friendships. The new track ‘blowing kisses’ is written and produced by the duo, and mixed by Richard Wilkinson (Adele, Kaiser Chiefs) and mastered by Antony Ryan (Oh Wonder).

'maybe you are not enough' sees the Leeds alt-pop duo flex their musical abilities in a hyper-pop fashion, fusing their indie-esque songwriing with heavy hyper-pop trills.

Maeve: "When we were in the midst of releasing our recent EP we were super busy but still wanted to do something creative. We spent the summer listening to a lot of hyper-pop and we started messing around with our tracks. I often describe "maybe i'm too much" as like a diary due to how many different forms it's taken. So we thought it was natural for that to be the track we remixed... so in its final form, we thought why not have a bit of fun with it. Hence the name "maybe you are not enough", it's cheeky and lighthearted and made to enjoy."
