As we move into a new year, again start the cogs of labels and artists around the world, this is certainly the case for Disc Over Music as they bring us their first release of 2015.

High off the back of exquisite releases in 2014 from Luca Lozano & Mr. Ho and Nicson, Disc Over’s first installment of 2015 comes from label head Tim Green - A four track EP bursting with two classic TG productions and two memorable remixes. The first coming from the highly talented German born producer Borrowed Identity and secondly, a digital bonus track which comes from London born Reber, who will be releasing on Disc Over again with an exciting forthcoming package.

The EP kicks off with the aptly named ‘Scar’ - a track which when heard, truly makes it mark. It sets the tone for the rest of the EP with it’s prominent bassline and haunting howls whilst dreamlike keys bounce and float above. Track two, ‘We Thought’ is taken down a gear but keeps all of the groove built from ‘Scar’. It begins with a simple trademark TG bassline and is allied with light and free singular keys. The listener is then joined by vocals which along with the previous elements take you on a real trip. Borrowed Identity speeds things up right away with his remix of ‘We Thought’. The track is morphed into a dancefloor groove with the comforting vocals darkened, cut and reworked on top of an unpredictable and fluctuating bassline. Reber then gives us no let up with his digital bonus remix of ‘Scar’. Pushing and pulling us even deeper whilst managing to keep the identity of Tim’s original track. The remix becomes something completely different and certainly makes you feel you want to take the whole trip again.

Overall Tim Green's ‘We Thought’ EP flows and tells a tale of darkness but is also married perfectly with moments of light, beauty and brilliance.

Starting off 2019, Terraformer EP will mark a new chapter in the output from label bosses Jasper Wolff and Maarten Mittendorff. More different from their previous work, this EP consists of 4 dancefloor oriented tracks, recorded during some late night studio sessions. As a result, it felt logical to release this new output under a new name. Hence their new Indigo Æra alias.

Opener 'Aeris' is a high octane techno track with filtered drum lines and warm pads that trap you in a tunnel and drive you forwards. A meandering synth drifts up and down the scale and leads your mind to wander, then 'Terraformer' is more loose, with spraying synths bringing an off balance sense to the thudding kicks. It's perfectly smooth, pressurised techno where 'Tabula Rasa' is more zoned out. It features the trademark ambient pads and thoughtful keys, while 'Flux' closes out in sci-fi style. Tribal drums ripple beneath cosmic motifs and the whole thing feels like a trip through the deepest reaches of space. Once more then, these are four fantastically atmospheric tracks of tasteful techno.

Indigo Æra - Terraformer EP [AERA024]

Skudge's passion for machine driven music and his artful approach to loops get reflected in this new release for Sungate. "Grain" and "Anyon" are two hypnotic, warm and dubbed out original tracks lying in that undefined area between house and techno. Smooth dub contours and slippery grooves for your enjoyment. Stojche's interpretation of "Grain" completes the release with an excellent dreamy and dancefloor-friendly remix.
