On ‘Yedora’s Music Catalog’, RougeHotel renders a world of uncanny beauty, where crackles of the divine commune with earthly grit. A world within, where blown out melodies echo through foggy moors and pads n synths are redlined to reveal the harshness at the core of the crystalline prettiness.

This album extends an antennae to the noise, with opener ‘Gruulsignet’ chasing signals in the roil and capturing divine voices in the static. The caustic swirl of ‘Yedora’ and ‘Foil’ are disrupted by glimmering, otherworldly transmissions, heartstopping melodic bursts breaking through like beams of concentrated light through a dark, gnarled wilderness. But it’s on ‘Rhystic Study’ and ‘Choral Chaos Re-Drum’ where the light is forged into form — d&b-inflected slappers that go off like they’re transcribed from ancient druidic runes. The road is long and perilous, so consider this album an amulet, a protective charm, a talisman. This is pathfinder music.

The loss of such a beautiful human being was heartbreaking. We are so very thankful to Yannick's mother, Trude Pozo-Vento, and Yannick's friends Rachel De La Torre and Nadav Kirsh who have been working with us to make sure Yannick's artistry will be heard, felt and will live on. When It Binds is a collection of songs composed over the last 3 years, and serves as Bénédicte’s personal exploration of what happens after an emotional connection is established with someone. How does this change who we are? How are our emotional landscapes altered with this new form of inter-subjectivity? Each song on the album is a different and searching sonic interpretation of these questions and a response to ever-changing emotional shifts.

Bénédicte is the musical project of Montreal-based producer and sound artist Maxime Gordon. Bénédicte’s music is a study of restrained feeling, containing soaring synths within a landscape that is strictly minimalist. She distorts field-recordings and vocal samples, splicing the human and familiar with the unnatural.
