The Elliot Schneider Short and Improbably Authorized Biography

In the summer of 1969 when men first set foot on the moon, I met Les Paul in Chicago.  I was visiting the daughter of his former drummer Tommy Rinaldo.  Mr. Paul was both warm and sardonic.  He invited me to travel back to New York with him, “Ten Years After” and Dusty Springfield. Strangely enough, I said, “thanks, but I can’t,” and so he gave me his card and invited me to his home in Mahwah, New Jersey. I played for him at his home in March of 1970 and he wanted to produce my song, “The First Day Of Summer.”  Being young and stupid, I never took advantage of that opportunity. Hey, it was the Sixties…
	On December 25, 1979 my band Elliot Schneider and the Pitts was the third band in history to debut at CBGB’s on a Saturday night. (Patti Smith, the Talking Heads, Blondie and Television were some of the debut artists.) When this band burst at the seams I became a music critic. Murray the K read my interview with Danny Kalb. He requested that I do his deathbed interview. It was a cover story for the Soho News.
         In 1982, I left New York and moved to San Francisco, where I put out my first album. Chris Halaby, the brother of Queen Noor of Jordan, plays on some of these songs; in fact he's the guitarist on "Wise Men Never Say.” Chris and I were put together through a mutual connection with John Hammond, Sr. who discovered Billie Holiday, Benny Goodman, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen.
       In San Francisco I first played as Elliot Schneider and The Pitts and then formed Elliot Schneider and The Banned. 
       In 1987, I gave up the holy grail of rock and roll. I retired, went to graduate school, became a high school history and philosophy teacher—and played in rock band with my students.  We would play high school rallies in front of screaming appreciative pupils (who were hopefully without dilated pupils!) Then in 2005 I got breast cancer, beat it, retired from teaching and returned to rock and roll with a vengeance. I am determined to drop dead at ninety years of age on stage with a smile on my face. My beloved Carmen Castro will still be playing keyboards right next to me when I do and if there's an encore, I will rise up and sing one last time... 
	
On Saturday night December 8, 2012, I was played on the BBC Radio Merseyside (Liverpool) on Spencer Leigh’s program, “On The Beat.” Imagine that—British Invasion in reverse!  And the same day Chestnut Radio put out its list of the Best Albums of 2012, 16 CDs “in no particular order” and my album, “If Looks Could Kill, I’d Wear Mirror Sunglasses made the list. (In fact Ralph J. Rizzo, the owner of the station, later said it was his absolutely favorite CD of the year with Jack White coming in second!)  On December 19, 2012, London DJ and author Henry Scott-Irvine (104.4 FM) said on his show that my CD was “one of my favorite albums of the year.”  His theme for that program was the Best Of 2012.

In 2013 the BBC Radio Merseyside invited me to come sing live on Spencer Leigh’s Saturday night program. And so we built a tour around that invitation. I headlined the 12 Bar Club in London and played from the south of England up into the north of Scotland. Many radio shows in Britain revolved around our visit. We even headlined a special charity event at the Liverpool home of the original Beatle’s bass player Stu Sutcliffe.

Because Ralph Rizzo fell in love with my music, he then asked Carmen Castro (the love of my life and my keyboard player) and me if we wanted to have a radio show on Chestnut Radio. The Carmen Castro and Elliot Schneider Grok Rock Radio Show now is the most popular show on the station with a vast radio audience on all the continents of the earth except Antarctica.

David Quaife, the brother of Pete Quaife  (co-founder of The Kinks) and the head of the Pete Quaife Foundation (along with the wondrous Penny Pound) discovered my music and has become one of the most important and magical people to ever enter my life. I am so honored to have my music appear on a compilation this Christmas with all the legends of rock and roll (Roger McGuinn of The Byrds and Noel Gallagher of Oasis, etc.) in order to raise money so that children can get the dialysis and help they so need. Through the Pete Quaife Foundation, David is saving the world one child at a time. 

And on September 20, 2014, the witty and brilliant DJ Peter Antony (of the legendary Pirate Radio station that changed the face of rock and roll in Britain in the Sixties: Radio Caroline) invited me over the air to play the Wildwood Festival in Lincolnshire, England this August 21—23. He uses language like “Fantastic,” “Excellent” and “OH my goodness!” to describe my music.

My previous album “Surreal Survivor” was No.1 on Amazon’s Hot New Releases mp3 chart in Rock/Oldies & Retro. 

        My second CD, “If Looks Could Kill, I’d Wear Mirror Sunglasses,” was released in June of 2012 and is, of course, getting extensive international airplay including on the BBC Radio Merseyside, Radio Caroline and KROQ.  It also reached number 8 on WLFR in the New York Metropolitan area.

The Artist/Producer/DJ originally from the hip hop heavy grounds of Long Island (Strong Island), has created an extensive catalog of original material over 20 years this year.  From his bands The Formula Project, One of Us and one7, to the solo works starting with the 1st release in 2015 “The Recipe” , the second album "17" released on 1/7/2023, to the upcoming release of JHOUSE Vol. 1.  Freddy's new genre JHOUSE, focused soley on Jamaican artists on Freddy's house based tracks. Freddy’s path has included licensing his band The Formula Project’s song “The Choice (Go Hard for Go Home)” ft Notar to ESPN 10 years straight for their programming of the NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) professional drag racing, as well as the only music in the NHRA Playstation game. 
It's with the birth of JHOUSE that Freddy places all focus globally.

The Assembled Minds is the recording project of Matthew J Saunders (Magnétophone (4AD), R.E.E.L., The Twilight Sequence, Veil). Traditional analogue studio rituals, sci-fi dreaming, arcane LED-lit magical practices and all nature of wyrd wild sonic tom foolery.

The first lp, 'Tomorrow Curves', is a collection of analogue sci-fi soundtracks and voltage controlled incantations.

The second album, 'Creaking Haze and Other Rave Ghosts', is an invocation of hazy horror raves from the mists of the collective mind. Here's what Simon Reynolds said about it:

"Differently great. Rippling reverb-misted pianos and a sleepwalk trance of drum machines and pumping bass – the vibe is much more Ultramarine’s 'British Summertime' than ardkore. And there’s this sound that’s in most of the tracks: a high-pitched “peaky” timbre that is… ecstatically edging into dissonance, is the best I can do by way of describing it. It reminded me of what Trevor Horn once told me: his belief that great albums have the same sound running all the way through – his example was The Blue Nile’s Hats – so that every track is a chip off the same lustrous block, refracting slightly different. "

Multi-instrumentista e bacharel em contrabaixo pelo curso de Música Popular da Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp), Danilo participa de diversos projetos paralelos tanto como instrumentista e como produtor. O projeto Catan Cotie é o resultado de um profundo estudo pelos vários caminhos que o abrangente chill out e a música experimental se aventuram. A criatividade aliada à consolidação do termo “concepção” são reflexos claros presentes em sua obra e método de trabalho. Catan Cotie is an Indian origin name of a brazilian chill out project by  musician/producer/DJ Danilo Granato. Multi-instrumentalist and  graduated in Popular Music/Eletric Bass at Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, Danilo  works as a musician and producer on many projects in different musical areas. The Catan Cotie project is the result of a profound research on the chill out and experimental music atmosphere. Creativity ally with conception of style dictate his work method and masterpieces..
It’s time to enter in this ambience laboratory looking for positive vibrations and true life experiences.&#13;
Recently years were a total consecration to the project. Participating at the line up of major brazilian electronic music festivals such as Universo Paralello Festival, 303Art Festival,  Samsara Festival, Chidneris Festival, Alternative Festival of Kranti   Respect Lost Festival and Zuvuya Festival.
