The notion of dark adaptation is by removing all sounds occurring at once and slowly reintroducing specific sounds through sound healing and meditation. This is done by creating a safe and comfortable space in which the individual can relax and focus their attention on the present moment. This process of removing and slowly reintroducing sound helps to cultivate an awareness of the subtleties that present themselves in the present moment, allowing the individual to gain insight into their internal and external environment.
