DEEP ATMOSPHERIC TECHNO

Vi (SLAP, Wrocław, Poland) - Vi is one of the youngest representatives of the deep hypnotic techno style in Poland. Behind the decks from 2016, she played alongside such names as Bjarki, Subjected, Ellen Allien, Miss Kittin, Retina.IT, Blazej Malinowski. Based on constant openness and searching in music for what most affects emotions and loss, Vi treats electronic music as the best therapy. Inspired by the sound of Italian and Japanese producers, she focuses on deep, raw techno. Nevertheless, she is not afraid of playing with the stylistics and boldly calls her club sets eclectic. In selection Vi looks for stimuli that they transform from spatial ballads into a fast, galloping groove.

Dycide’s production always returns to the theme of escapism and for Inchmix073 he weaves together a restrained, yet pulsating narrative exploring hypnotic structures and percussive patterns .

It's been a testing time for all but music has helped us through to the other side.

We are joined by Tblisi based artist 3AM as she treats us to a more minimal Techno vibe, dark and menacing sounds.

3AM (a.k.a. Ana Marjanidze) started as a result of expressing a hidden personality which canour communicate only through music and be open when mixing deep, energetic sounds. 

3AM is proof of an idea, that no matter what you do in your life, what profession you may have, you are still capable to be artistic, creative and dare to touch music in most intimate way.

Inspired by various foreign and Georgian artists, 3AM is trying to make connection with the people, giving them emotions and feelings from the very soul of her own.

Medha [PVC | Leipzig, Germany]

Medha's passion for technoid music is characterised by her constant search for inspiration and new tracks, which she brings together in her mixes with a mixture of intuition and thought. Influenced by the Berlin and Leipzig club scene, especially the Institut für Zukunft, she developed her own way to express her passion. Her sound is characterised by concise basslines and rougher elements on the one hand, but also by deep and driving rhythms and repetitive sounds, creating an endless drive that always aims to make the listener dance. She has been an integral part of the PVC collective for over two years and organises events herself.

For our first podcast of the series, we present to you French DJ and producer, Farazdeck. An artist with multiple releases under some of the finest deep techno labels including Circular Limited (Spain), Indefinite Pitch (China), Secuencias Temporales (Mexico) and more. 

Last summer Farazdeck shared with us an intelligently crafted live set, casting a dense haze of otherworldly sounds which set a tone over Friday night's magic. Once we were gifted with this mix we had no choice but to invite him back to the valley this June...

This mix is an exemplary musical journey exploring different realms of deep atmospheric sounds. From the outset the listener is lured in by glitchy minimal textures that slip seamlessly into thick percussive beats. The high energy finale rounds off this mix keeping you gripped from start to finish.

The valley awaits.

Farazdeck | Above Below

Svreca needs little introduction. The Semantica label head has carved out a reputation in his hometown, Madrid, and internationally as a master of deep, hypnotic, forward-thinking techno.

For our One Year celebration at ://aboutblank in Berlin in May 2017, he held us spellbound under the glow of the late-spring sun with this luminescent mix of colours, textures, and sounds.

We are very excited to present the live recording of this set as the latest installation in our mix series.

Kristen Dalen is a multi-talented musician, DJ, and visual artist based in Seattle and a key affiliate of the US-based Blankstairs label. Dalen's mixing style allows the carefully curated selection of heavy yet patient techno to shine, allowing each track to breathe and unfold while remaining in constant control of the energy. We're excited to welcome them to the podcast, and share this recording from a highlight of the Pacific Northwest techno scene.

Hello and welcome back to The Poeticast, we hope everyone is safe and well and returning to a form of normality wherever you are in the world! After a month's break we return and we are in fine company as Buenos Aires based artist Camila Villegas is in control of the mix for our 245th episode.

emergent dj and producer from Buenos Aires Argentina, with dirty and hard bassline who likes to experiment with sounds through electronic music too.

Camila Villegas is an emerging DJ and producer from the vibrant Buenos Aires, Argentina techno scene. With regular appearances in Cocoliche, Under Club, Techno Moon, Pulse, Horus, Chaosmos and more. Since 2019 Camila has been part of the Assault's Artist Roster and being resident of it too, showing a sound related to techno music but influenced by Elektro, Acid, Industrial, Rave, Breaks and EBM too. Camila has been showing promise in the studio aswell as in the booth with some fine releases so far this year the future is certainly bright for this young talent.
