On the phone with my therapist the other day
been a while since I had therapy I have to say 
She said it’s so good to see you since you been away 
i read your portal please convey what brings you in today  
In my heart I know I need this cause I’m not okay 
unforgiveness and I know it’s eating me away
like a wisdom tooth its painful and it just decay 
tears are falling after every word I start to say 

Growing up and even now I have a lot of trauma 
and the trauma is just rooted because of my mama 
complications and abuse and just so many drama 
I love my mother but I wasn’t really loved by mama
she’s the reason why I look so different in the face 
I would get more than berate when I would make mistakes 
in the womb where there was me and then my mother drank 
it was so hard being vulnerable I will be frank 

(as I’m writing and recording this, it is very difficult to fully express myself in person, extremely difficult, it’s even hard for me to cry around people, when I do cry I’m just expecting to be asked why. As far as expression it’s just easier to express myself in the music I make )

in situations got named called when she was frustrated 
yeah them words it really hurt and they penetrated 
the reason I’m afraid of making people agitated 
being a mama isn’t something that she demonstrated 
they say words don’t hurt just sticks and stones but that’s a lie 
them words are the stones that stick and make you wanna die 
but I can’t go I’m on assignment so I gotta fly 
God is with me I’m so thankful that He’s by my side

after sharing my emotions started getting real 
therapist said it’s not forgiveness you just need to heal 
cause you’ve forgiven I can tell by just the way you feel 
but don’t rush it trust me it’s gon take some time to heal
so your homework when we leave is go read some decrees 
start speaking them out and commit them to your memory
write your pain out in these songs that’s what people need
All the things you go through builds up your testimony
