The song is a satire about gay hookup culture. It’s completely set in the mind of someone participating in an app like Grindr. (And that’s why it’s so hectic- there’s a line I use in another song called the neighborhood that perfectly describes it where I say :
“a warm storm brews from my head to my shoes, then a hurricane- destructive winds and heavy rains, shook foundation, heavy elation, infatuation, then ejaculation... sex- cold and clinical, back to being cynical, the calm after the storm is the moment of clarity after a big cum.” 
Basically, no charge is like the moment of the storm. Strong, exciting, enthralling, it’s the act of being, well......a slut. There’s so much clarity that comes post sexual encounter, and with that sense of clarity comes an even stronger feeling of regret. On no charge, there are lots of sparatically spaced piano stabs, meant to represent impulsivity, and the birds are meant to represent the idea of the fantasy literally swirling around in my head. (Which, if you didn’t realize it, the odd percussion that pops up in the song a lot is actually the Grindr notification sound, which helps to hear what the subject of the song is hearing)The multiple vocal tracks are kind of like the angels and devils on your shoulder, except if you notice both of the vocal tracks are borderline encouraging and moving the sexual behavior foreword. And of course the fast cassette drums not only give the track a full bodied sound, but they also help to create a feeling of racing against the clock..... if you catch my drift.

Is it dirty? Yes. Is it provocative? absolutely right. But it serves a much deeper purpose than just expressing a story in a fast, humorous, and creative way. It actually seems kind of ominous when you really think about it, and almost eerie to think about what the persons mindset becomes “after the storm.” The song even goes into topics like body image, body shaming, age gap relations, and the idea that all the men on these apps present themselves as one dimensional archetypes- and how a lot of them embrace the shallowness and simplicity of the image they have manifested, and kind of fall heavily into the persona. It often leads into a depressive state, one that I was in at the time of this songs conception.
