Preparing For Battle

Life is rough, and your mind is busy with plans how to make it through the next day. Could you ever stop having the blues? Even as a musician? While jamming a boogie on piano, the phrase stuck in my head and I liked its ambiguity. I am overwhelmed how many people from all over the world joined the session and created an awesome rock'n'roll song. Everybody added their bit and we are very proud of the result. Thank you so much!

This song describes a person who has spent his entire life in the same town, enjoying friends and all the comforts of familiar places and people. But as the years advance he becomes more fixated on the increasing number of friends that have passed on, leaving him to contemplate his approaching fate. He determines that he has to leave his home town to escape the unnerving confines and find renewed hope for his future.

Inspired by the sounds Mystique Wind added to the track that is now Headed into the Wind, I stole those sounds out of it and made a fresh mix out of them just for fun. I shared it with M.W., who gave me an excited response. I passed the stems back and after a few more additions, we had a real nice chill world track laid out.
