To hear is to enjoy the distinctively, captivating contemporary soulful approach that Henry Shead Sr. brings to music. His voice is raw, yet polished; it is versatile and sophisticated without ever losing its basic emotion.  

Henry Wallace Shead, Sr., better known as “Shed” was born in Fordyce, Arkansas, on March 31, 1941.  He was raised in Little Rock, the son of a reverend, Henry Arthur Shead.  At the tender age of six, Henry was introduced to the keyboards by his mother, Willie LeBethel, who immediately recognized his natural talent. Henry’s mother saw to it that her son had piano lessons, while his father’s church provided the place for his early public performances.
At the start of his career, he performed regularly on a local American Bandstand-type TV show called Center Stage. He also became a fixture at the Little Rock Country Club. He made his mark playing in intimate settings as a solo artist, dazzling listeners with his absolute mastery of the piano, singing in that slightly raspy, yet smooth sounding baritone voice. Shead was awarded a scholarship to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, and majored in music while entertaining around the area. Henry met his wife, Jeanette Mazique, while attending college in Pine Bluff. They married in January of 1964 and had four children.
He became a high school choral director and music teacher, all the while continuing to work in local nightspots like the Drummer‘s Club in Little Rock. In 1971, he moved to Los Angeles where he made his acting debut appearing with Henry Fonda, Richard Dreyfuss and Jane Alexander in William Saroyan’s The Time of Your Life. He wrote and arranged music for stage plays and television, sang the title song for a United Artist film, did studio work on a Johnny Mathis album, and recorded for the Liberty/United Artists and Cream labels.

Shed created national radio jingles and appeared on network television with Dinah Shore, Johnny Carson and Jerry Lewis. He has also performed at parties for the Rockefellers, Pearl Bailey, The Carpenters, President Lyndon Johnson, President Bill Clinton, Henry Mancini, Sergio Mendes, hotelier Peter Morton, Ed McMahon and Barbra Streisand.
In Las Vegas, the city where he lived since 1974, Shed entertained at most of the major hotels, with long engagements at the Aladdin, Stardust, Hacienda, MGM Grand, Caesar’s Palace and Sahara. In 1977, the Henry Shead Band with Denise Clemente was voted Las Vegas’ Best Lounge Act of the Year. His last long-term run was at AJ’s Steakhouse at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, retiring in 2007. In October 2006, he was inducted into the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame.
He died on October 5, 2012 in Las Vegas and is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood CA.

Lanny Wolfe is a 40 year gospel legend, pioneering progressive modern church music. Wolfe was the first American artist to bring sophisticated worship styles outside of the standard traditional hymn in church. His style brought pre-recorded music infused with pop-culture and black gospel influences to create a lively and riveting message. He also brought the gospel world the annual National Music Ministry Conference that started in in the 1970s. 

New Release september 28th: Minimal, AMP Music&Records

Sondre Ferstad Ensemble is an eight piece band combining a classical string quartet and a jazz quartet, led by Sondre Ferstad; one of the few professional jazz harmonica players on the European music stage. The music on “Minimal” reflects Sondre’s influences from choral traditions from church music and Norwegian contemporary jazz music. After recording the album in September 2017, the project took an unexpected direction as Norwegian author Lars Saabye Christensen became involved. Poesiscena has commissioned him to write poems for the music on “Minimal”, which will be performed by him together with the band, at Poesiscena in collaboration with Høstscena Teaterfestival in Ålesund, September 2018. Christensen will also join the band on its release tour.

“Minimal” is the ensemble’s debut album - a solid statement from a young harmonica player who is bringing out a big and warm sound from his small instrument. The compositions unify calmness and friction by a sophisticated way of surrounding melodies with a strong harmonic signature. The music is presented by a highly competent ensemble, which has developed a strong inner connection that unifies the classical and jazz sections into one band. As they often play in quiet dynamics, the musicians create tension in the music, although the album also features more outgoing and energetic tunes such as “Pianomute” and “Danijelu”. 

Norwegian violinist, composer and producer Ola Kvernberg has produced the album, who has maxed out the potential of the music. “Minimal” is recorded in Sørgården Studio in Ler, Norway, September 2017, by Pål Brekkås. The album is mixed by Kyrre Laastad and mastered by Morten Stendahl.

Channelled madness – the sound Dawn of Midi spent years shaping, culminating into their most mesmerising work yet

With Dysnomia, the Brooklyn-based group Dawn of Midi abandons improvisation in favour of composition, utilising sophisticated rhythmic structures from North and West African folk traditions to weave a sonic tapestry of trance-inducing grooves. From close up one may see only dots, but when stepping back an undulating image reveals itself. “We didn’t want to create anything cerebral,” says Belyamani, “we wanted something visceral, something that would awaken our instinctive dance impulses.”
Having met at California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles in 2006, bassist Aakaash Israni, pianist Amino Belyamani and drummer Qasim Naqvi found their original rapport through late night tennis matches on the campus court. The chemistry they founded there eventually led them back indoors to improvise together; something they did in total darkness to deprive themselves of all their senses except the crucial one – their hearing.
The manner, by which a trio of solely acoustic instruments ends up sounding like electronic music, has to do with the unconventional ways the group play their instruments on Dysnomia. The record comes to life in the trio’s critically acclaimed live shows, a test of endurance and trust that involves performing their hand-looped acoustic minimalism note for note, just as the compositions were recorded. Dawn of Midi’s sets are as energetic and rhythmic as a seamlessly mixed DJ-set, mesmerising fans in the same way the group’s favourite experimental and electronic acts have for decades.
The album was recorded to 2-inch tape at Waterfront Studios in Hudson, New York - a former church that was purchased and transformed into an analogue recording playground by the great engineer Henry Hirsch. Once the band visited the studio and met Henry, an expert in analogue recording equipped with a vintage Helios console, 16 and 24-track tape machines and a superb collection of microphones, it was obvious they had to record there; it was miles ahead of anywhere else they had visited. Rusty Santos then mixed the album to make sure it would hit as hard as the group’s favourite electronic albums do in spite of it being entirely acoustic.
“We wanted to make a record that sounded both musically futuristic and sonically vintage,” explains Israni, “and since the album never saw a proper international release, it is very exciting to see what might happen when more people are exposed to it. And to be aligned with Erased Tapes, whose enthusiasm for the music they release has done a lot for exposing unique instrumental and electronic music, makes it that much more interesting.”

Dysnomia will be released worldwide on June 1st, 2015 through Erased Tapes – available on 2x LP, CD and Download.

Daemon Chili is a Boston-based American Roots Rock band. Formed in the fall of 2013 by Michael Dion (lead singer/songwriter/rhythm guitar/harmonica), the band quickly gained regional traction by way of their energetic and powerful live performances. Dion, formerly of the acclaimed New England string band Hot Day at the Zoo, reworked much of the material from his former outfit and has created something entirely new and exciting (think Bob Dylan going electric at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival).  

Daemon Chili’s personnel is composed of Jason Moretti (lead guitar) & Jay Samiagio (bass) formerly of Cotton Mouth, and Jay Breen (drums) formerly of The Freelance Bishops. Heavily influenced by the unique and eclectic sounds of such luminary acts as The Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, and The Band, Daemon Chili fuses elements of rock, blues, folk, Americana, bluegrass, and reggae, into their sound.

Live in Lowell (2019) is the band's third full-length album. Recorded February 23, 2019 at Warp and Weft in Lowell, MA. The album features 3 special guests who helped to bring the band's vision to life. Mercy of the Sea (2016) is Daemon Chili’s sophomore album, which peaked at #5 on the April 2016 Relix/Jambands.com Radio Chart. The album marks the band’s unquestionable metamorphosis into a musical outfit that truly defies genre categorization. It also features a myriad of additional musicians whose talents help to round out a sophisticated musical juggernaut that heaves up-and-down with purpose and intention. The lineup includes Max Chase (Amulus) on keys; Nick Heys (Hot Day at the Zoo) on piano; Seth Bailin, Mike Kaskiewicz, Alex Allman (The Party Band) on horns; and Jes Sheldon (The Lightkeepers) on backing vocals.

Daemon Chili’s first album - Rise Up (2014) - is a hybrid album which features the last of the Dion-penned studio material from his time with Hot Day at the Zoo as well as some live material from Daemon Chili’s 2013 live New Year’s Eve performance at the historic Stone Church in Newmarket, NH. This album clearly showcases the transition from acoustic string band to roots rock powerhouse.

Born in Minnesota, Fuller has resided in California,Seattle, Vancouver, the Turks and Caicos Islands and New York City. He started singing in church choirs as a child,
and went on to study classical piano during his teenage years. Simultaneously,
Tim began to play the drums and over a period of seven years,
developed into a very skilled percussionist. Once he pursued a post-secondary degree in vocal jazz at Vancouver Community College in British
Columbia, success as a musician came almost immediately.
In the early stages of his career, Fuller had a record deal with his funk/R&B outfit
Vote of Confidence, known to fans as VOC. Since then, Tim has fronted several
successful bands, performing funk, soul and R&B, though he’s best known
across the West Coast for steaming up the stage as lead vocalist for the live
funk band ‘Soulstream’, which holds a longstanding residency at Vancouver hot
spot Bar None. Meanwhile, Jazz aficionados, will recognize Fuller as a member
of vocal quartet ‘The Melloyds”, which over period of seven years, recorded two
albums, toured internationally for A&M Records, performed for the King and Queen of England,Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana,and many provincial,federal and international dignitaries.
While greatly inspired by Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Curtis Mayfield and
fellow Minnesota native Prince, once turned on to the work of Frankie Knuckles,Inner City,
Tony Humphries and Massive Attack, Tim set his sights on house music to bed his writing and singing
abilities. Making use of the influences he acquired throughout his career and bringing
them into the studio, Fuller teamed up with Vancouver producers DJ Ali and
Sean Dimitrie to great effect. Their varied backgrounds and talents resulted
in a fresh new sound, giving house an equally raw, sophisticated and funky edge.
Ali and Dimitrie’s ”disco dubbed techno” paired with Fuller’s soul drenched style
began making motions on charts and dance floors alike.First out of the gate came the beguiling,infectious,underground classic",U DON'T KNOW";this track seems to have a life of its own,residing on numerous compilations,(A CLASSIC DECADE-TEN YEARS OF THE CLASSIC MUSIC COMPANY,GROOVE ARMADA-ESSENTIAL SUMMER GROOVE,etc.)and remixed by house legend Jacob London and most recently, Matt Tolfrey;Next came "The Release"on Manali;then "Show You Right",another Manali imprint that still continues to attract new converts,with sick remixes first from super funky Llorca, then later on, the brilliant SPIRIT CATCHERS.Party favourite,"GO"on Bombay followed;then the sexy, saucy,"SO HOT"on Odori.In 2006 Fuller released his first full length album"THE SLIGHTEST TOUCH"on BOMBAY RECORDS;Co- produced and Co- with Sean Dimitrie,with contributions from DJ ALI and NAV BHINDER.the album spawned a double remix package;Chuck Love,Miguel Graca,Fred Everything,Chicken Lips,Spirit Catchers and Ilya Rudman all made incredibly inspired appearances.The title track"SLIGHTEST TOUCH" remixed by the fabulous"CHICKEN LIPS" was huge in the UK and a fav of BBC-ONE.
Fuller and Dimitrie soon embarked on delivering their live show to venues all over the world,rocking delirious house heads from Seoul to Miami with vocal improv and live production wizardry. The previous works attracted the attention of some world class dj's and producers;one of them being west coast house king MIGUEL MIGS.Fuller co wrote 3 tracks with Migs for the monster "THOSE THINGS"album(SOMETIME,CANT GET THRU,BODY NEVER LIES)and toured North America with Migs and Lisa Shaw.Fuller then became a member of "PETALPUSHER"a Miguel Migs live project,with Shaw and a stable of 8 extremely gifted and inspiring musicians.Another tour followed,leaving happy audiences in its wake.Soon after Fuller got a call from GROOVE ARMADA-one of his heroes.He soon found out why.Even though only a small appearance on SOUND BOY ROCK resulted from the sessions, Fuller gained incredible knowledge and inspiration after being locked away with house genius ANDY CATO.IAN POOLEY soon came calling;Fuller co wrote a track with Pooley (WHAT I GOT)for his release "IN OTHER WORDS"-with a remix provided by the legend DERRICK CARTER.

Co written on a cold Montreal afternoon,Fuller and Fred Everything created an old school banger,destined for Everything's album,"LOST TOGETHER".The track was a
single with remixes from LAWN CHAIR GENERALS,DOZA,AND HOME AND GARDEN.It was one of the TOP TRACKS FOR MONTHS on multiple charts,including BEATPORT,AND found a home on numerous compilations and club mixes.
As of late,Fuller has continued to pad his discography- Sacha Dive released a Dimitrie/Fuller creation,"CAUGHT"(a naughty tale of witnessed inhibition) on his label DEEP VIBES;a collaboration with Aussie house kings RANDOM SOUL(aka YOGI AND HUSKY)resulted in the track" LET LOVE FLY " with remixes by DUTCHICAN
SOUL,RANDOM SOUL,and SEAN DIMITRIE.
While this introduction to one of Canada’s most in demand singer/songwriters comes seemingly late, Fuller’s unique vocal style, musical ability and stage presence break down walls and infuse dance music with a new warmth and
humanity. Vancouver’s Tim Fuller is on track to become one of music’s next
great, multi- genre performers.

     Troy Armstrong (b.1990, Tulsa, OK) is a composer, arranger, and conductor currently based in Overland Park, Kansas. His music has best been described as “sophisticated yet accessible at the same time.” Inspired by film music past and present, Troy's music constantly strives to merge his love of traditional harmonies with his fascination over contemporary techniques and textures.
     He has received commissions from groups such as the Blue Valley School District, the A.I.M Ensemble in Los Angeles, the Music for Special Occasions trio in Kansas City, and the Church of the Resurrection Orchestra. His works have been performed in the USA and Europe in venues such as the Kennedy Performing Arts Center in Washington, D.C. and Cadogan Hall in London, England. Recently, one of his marching band arrangements was performed in front of Westminster Abbey in the 2014 London New Year's Day Parade.
     During the University of Kansas’ 2007-2008 basketball season (the year the team won the NCAA National Championship), he was the premiere composer for their Jayhawk Basketball Television Network. Troy is currently composer/arranger in residence with the Church of the Resurrection music department in Leawood, KS where he arranges music for their choir and orchestras on a weekly basis.
     Troy is a member of ASCAP and the Pi Kappa Lambda music honors society and recently graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Music degree in composition. His past teachers include Frank Ticheli, Morten Lauridsen, Stephen Hartke, Donald Crockett, and Erica Muhl.
