Weep O Mine Eyes is one of the most famous madrigals of John Bennet. It is written for 4 vocal parts and was first published in his first collection, 'Madrigalls to Fovre Voyces', in 1599. 

The composition is an homage to John Dowland, being based partly on Dowland's most famous piece 'Flow My Tears'.

When You Are Old

Amici Cantores was established in Liverpool, UK, in 2016. Starting life as a 4 part ensemble we have since increased our number to 5 and hope to expand further.  

Three of our members performed in the 2008 Holocaust Memorial Service at the Liverpool Philharmonic, one of whom was also a duettist alongside the formidable talent of Tayo Aluko and other great artists. 

A.C. performs pieces from across the centuries and genres, from Morley and Bennet to Mendelssohnn and Vaughan-Williams and also living composers.
