Hózhó is the most sacred word in the Diné (Navajo) language. It is the life in all things the animistic force of the universe. In this track I use an ancient ancestral pueblo flute known as an Anasazi flute based on an archeological find that dates back to 700 A.D.

This is my first track combining the indigenous music of Arizona with Black Metal. Shamanic Dreams combines the beauty of Diné (Navajo) music and the landscape of Arizona with the brutality and atmosphere of black metal.

ALGONKIAN MYTHOS, the debut album from NECHOCHWEN, is modern acoustic music spawned from a distant era. The album consists of ten tracks that focus on real people and real events involving Eastern Woodland Indian tribes in eighteenth century America. While some may categorize this as relaxing neo-folk music, the listener might occasionally smell woodsmoke and feel that someone is pointing a flintlock to his head while listening to it. Acoustic and classical guitars blend with chants and percussion to create a morose and aggressive new sound in dark classical music. 

The music of NECHOCHWEN will have a great appeal to those who are listeners of such great artists the likes of ULVER, TENHI, EMPYRIUM, and OCTOBER FALLS. The Monumental album ALGONKIAN MYTHOS is a dedication to the Native American roots and heritage of NECHOCHWEN. The listener will embark on journey of the soul set to an epic soundtrack of glorious classical neo folk unlike any other in existance! Each song portrays a somber story...
