One of nine siblings, he turned to music after losing a brother to gun violence and stepping away from a promising basketball career due to injury. With early exposure to music through his family’s basement studio, Peezyy began writing raps as a form of therapy and self-expression. His unique sound stands out from Detroit’s current wave, reflecting a broader range of influences.
