As LionDub International charges into 2014 with mulitple releases and a newly-unveiled Street Series, we welcome a roster of unheard talent to both its main label and the freshly-born sub-label. The next release features tracks and remixes from artists based all over the globe; contributions streamed in from Delhi, London, Toronto, Paris, Dublin, Glasgow and it is ultimately released out of Brooklyn. 

REDS, a recently-minted East London drum-and-bass duo who we proudly offer their solo vinyl debut featuring vocals from India's Delhi Sultanate and remixes from Canada's jungle don Marcus Visionary, the inimitable Mungos Hi Fi out of Scotland, Dublin's Dirty Dubsters and one of France's dubstep legends, Von D. The bouncy original from the pair falls close to a dancehall feeling, with understated and low-mixed drums dropping away to accentuate the bounding bass rhythm and the center-stage vocal performance. The old-school jungle style of Marcus Visionary comes through strongly in his rolling remix, which revels in the rush of tumbling drums and blasts of mid-range bass. Mungos Hi Fi give this release a solid reggae re-lick with new sound clash style vocals from Delhi Sultanate and sweet choruses from longtime collaborator Begum X out of India. This particular Mungos riddim released earlier in 2013 to great acclaim featuring vocals from none other than Soom-T on her "Bong Bong" anthem. The Dirty Dusters offer up a unique, Euro dancehall twist on their high energy remix. Full vocals and simple, yet, catchy grooves wind up the track in a unique style. From his rich past on labels like Argon, Black Acre, and Boka, it would be expected that Von D give an altogether more contemporary treatment, and fittingly he reduces the tempo, ups the atmospherics, and brings in brutal walls of battering bass in half-step time for the smokers in the room while leaving most of the vocals, which were so present in the other mixes, on the cutting room floor. The transformative ending to this widely-varied EP gives balance and range to the release and presents a strong debut offering for REDS and Delhi Sultanate as Liondub International continues its charge towards new territory for 2014.

[A] Moxu - Faded:
Faded by Romanian Producer Moxu, was inspired by a love of all things Autumnal, when colours begin to fade across the full spectrum and Summer reaches its drawn out conclusion. With a primary focus on the more soulful and atmospheric style combined with a strong emphasis on a commanding bassline that can tell it's own story alongside those of the individual instruments. A deep and melancholic track featuring a prominent reese bass throughout, to give a rough and ready feeling together with varied automated pads and delicate hats, to create the intelligent and minimalist feel of this Liquid Drum & Bass track.

[B] Foreign Shores - Inside My Head:
Inside My Head is a deep, melodic track that opens with moody detuned synths that evoke a feeling of nostalgic 80's sounds. Increasing the pace the track drops into a dark and dominant reese bass that dances enchantingly inside your head. Layered with airy arpeggios & mysterious vocals the track has a constant sense of building towards something. The breakdown has sad undertones that pull the listener into a sense of calm before dropping back in with more tight drum work & an eerie lead.

[C] Sensus - Higher (VIP Mix):
Belgium producer Sensus, joins Nu Venture Records for his first outing on the label, with a variation in production of his Deep Liquid Drum & Bass track Higher. Beginning with the track defining chord progression alongside atmospheric strings and prominent drums, whilst maintaining a feel good summer vibe through the introduction of an influential Saxophone, as this one develops in the later stages of the drop. Originally composed as an instrumental, before the addition of the perfect accompaniment in the form of a beautiful female vocal sample, to further enhance the profound sense of sentiment when combined with the emotional feel of the vocal and piano.

[D] Foreign Shores - A Moment With You:
A Moment With You was composed as a deep and airy thought provoking Drum & Bass track. Starting with a smooth and heavenly vocal top line and powerful chords, before building into a true Liquid roller. Crisp drums & a heavy driving bassline are complimented by the evocative female vocals to define the sentiment of the track. Intricate guitar stabs & varied percussion keep the track progressing before transitioning into a soft breakdown that has the listener waiting for the drop to reveal itself once more.
