Invoking the spirits of Carabali, and reviving a divine dance of the Ireme,
“Abakwa” (Future Roots Mix) is the latest consociation between producers Shaman's Dream, Liquid Bloom & Poranguí.

A multi-hued expedition back in time, the kaleidoscopic track explores ancient traditional rhythms and medicinal chants, revolutionized by modern production technologies into an entirely new work of salubrious sound art. Travel to secret spiritual societies in Cuba, toast a Guaguanco -the Matanzas-style rumba - across the high seas and arrive in Nigeria, to dance the Sobuninkum in celebratory masquerades on the banks of the Cross River.

The relationship between these inspired collaborators stretches long miles and many moons. Liquid Bloom’s contributions arrive by way of the ever-prolific Amani Friend (Desert Dwellers), who has worked with Shaman’s Dream in various artistic and community capacities for nearly two decades. São Paulo, Brazil’s Poranguí, beloved in ecstatic dance
and medicinal music circles around the world, naturally flowed into the bosom of this musical partnership.

Born from an organic instrumental project Sahuna Love (Shaman’s Dream) first recorded years ago, “Abakwa” (Future Roots Mix) finds this production trifecta breathing new life into potent, primordial sounds. The track traverses sonic geographies; from a steady driving slow-house pulse peppered with buoyant percussion, to a throbbing, 6/8 psychedelic bass
pattern that navigates familiar topography. The entirety of the journey is punctuated by divine chants and reverent vocals.

A stone thrown, just to watch it fly. A projectile launched for the sole purpose of drawing a ballistic trajectory in the sky.
The Solens arc is what remains after the subtraction of the goal; a simple parabolic curve defined by gravity, impulse and starting angle. No target to hit, no catharsis to wait for, just the beauty of the flight.

The Arc as the purpose, in the form of four variations, constructed from disintegrated melodic textures and dismantled beats. Each sequences are assembled seamlessly into dense, evolving compositions, while keeping their autonomy, and their role in the global dramaturgy.

Pointillist serial loops morph into abrasive rave anthems, broken club rhythms are refitted into uneven patterns, like deconstructivist sound architectures. Industrial techno stompers dissolve into granular sound waves and filtered space pads, before being overtaken by cinematic drums and rising arpeggios.

Solens Arc is Kangding Ray’s fourth Album for raster-noton.

'After some back and forth for the past year with up and coming Melbourne talent Joe Mattei we are extremely happy to present his debut EP with UGenius titled Underpass which he has collaborated with the legend Danny Bonnici. His output of music most definitely captured our attention of late and welcome him with open arms. 

There's not many names so synonymous and well respected within the Australian electronic music community than Danny Bonnici (NuBreed) & Jamie Stevens (Infusion). Collectively they have shaped a scene and influenced so many in their tenure with a list accolades as long as the Zambezi. 

With Danny teaming up with Joe on the both track's and Jamie delivering a yet again spectacular remix for the lead track, this one is sure to get the attention from the worlds best with early support already strong.

The B Side "Into The Sun" rounds out the release with the boys delivering a chuggy monster with bright synth notes that contradict the brooding bass sounds that scatter throughout. This one is perfect for lifting a set to another level.'

Premiere: Joe Mattei & Danny Bonnici - Underpass (Jamie Stevens Remix) [Ugenius]

Today, I am pretty excited about a new collaboration project between Markus Güntner and Joachim Spieth to appear this fall (in November) on Spieth’s Affin imprint. This piece is appropriately titled “Prologue,” and I think it perfectly sets up our anticipation of what we can expect from this duo. As I’ve said many times in the past, it’s absolutely amazing to see two [favourite] artists come together and not just exchange ideas but participate in a sonic dialogue, compliment each other, and round off the tiny edges with an individual approach. The two German composers have previously appeared together, most notably in Kompakt‘s Pop Ambient series of compilations – one of their tracks, “Kari”, appears on Pop Ambient 2022. But now we get an entire album of lush and textured ambience, which would surely satisfy the cravings of many followers of this evolving genre. There is a bunch more I could say about this work, but all you need to know is instantly revealed when you simply listen. And this is what I’d like invite you to do now…

Figure continues its new limited edition hybrid disc ' x.5 ' series with a special 2 track offering from Johannes Heil.

'Kykeon I' represents an unabashed, smiles-abound floor-filler with one of Heil's most joyful and accessible productions to date. A perfect heady cocktail of slamming 90s drums and uplifting house- stab melodies, the german producer has really struck a chord here with this future club-classic.

The spaced out stepping beats of 'Kykeon II' then, sit in welcome contrast to the all out madness of its bigger brother. Subtle, intelligent Techno formations rise and swell, based around a similar melodic framework to that found in part I.

Another masterclass from one of the most talented producers in the business.

Kicking off a new concept for Palinoia, I'm presenting a previously unreleased Donato Dozzy track that I first heard in his infamous "DDKH" mix from many moons ago. I regularly harassed Dozzy about this in hopes he had plans for it, but after almost a decade of being questioned he told me to just put it out myself, provided I was doing a track for the B-side.

Knowing full well I couldn't make anything nearly as gorgeous as Donato's underwater techno groover here, I decided to go for something a bit more upbeat and party friendly, all the while as wiggly as the masters' contribution.

FIGURE is the Berlin-based label of Len Faki who manages to regain a tight grip of influence on techno with it’s outstanding contributions.

The forthcoming album titled Indigo is by Exos, an Icelandic techno creator who has decided to drop his newest album following a nineteen year focus of steady EP releases, while advancing and refining his production aesthetic all the way on the likes of Ben Sims’ Symbolism to Thule Records and launching his Planet X imprint recently too.

For this DT:Premiere we selected “Rigning í Stekknum” that weaves a delicate trip of his signature dub style that transport your mind to a natural environment yet in electronic form. Organic and made of a sparse groove, they say class is permanent and it’s shown in his catalogue of brilliance and daringly precise output.
