Born February 12, 1972, Brian Stewart Gager died on June 28, 2018 in Pittsburgh, PA. He attended The School of Fine Arts at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and there earned a degree with honors in Music Composition.  He worked composing, recording, and mixing in NYC, mostly for television but he was most proud of an award for background music in a documentary about small parks and gardens in New York which ran at the New York Film Festival.  He spent many years back in Pittsburgh doing the same work.  

Along with many original songs and compositions, Brian composed an oratorio for children for the Lord of the Rings trilogy with Tolkien's poetry as the lyrics. His students at a Montessori school performed each work: https://soundcloud.com/brian-gager-851051760/sets/lotr-trilogy

Brian spearheaded the band Orpheus in 1991 -  https://soundcloud.com/user-935894621/sets/orpheus-the-canonized-muse, and most recently, Black Arrow Medicine - https://soundcloud.com/brian-gager-851051760/sets/black-arrow-medecine.

Brian was a prolific composer, song-writer, recording artist, and multi-instrumentalist including guitar, piano, violin. He will be greatly missed.
