After she shared her video from a local dead mall in her town that is being demolished soon, she sent me a rough piano / synth and vocal draft. This is a clash of psychology with science, and, well, early The Cure meets Bowie's Scary Monsters. It's easy to be close to somebody and still not be seen or heard no matter how loudly you speak. Mixed all this up with some actual invisibility science, so believe it or not, in terms not being seen this song stands on solid physics, until it doesn't....

Gosh!  Over a year since I've posted a new song!  It’s been a rough few years, but for me, the past 6 months have been particularly hard.  

This song was written ages ago, but I wanted to record it, just to have a copy for myself.  It’s a one-take piano/singing thing, with flaws but a sense of the underlying feeling.  While I was producing it, it developed a life of its own.  I had thought I’d rock it up with quite a conventional sound, but the drums and bass insisted on having their own unique flavours – ribbons of synth.  Aah well, here it is, a bit rough around the edges but at least I can feel that I am making music again...  thanks so much for listening!

Dipping into the archives for this one, but one of my personal favorites when I played with gifted violinist Julie Evans many years ago. It came out of an improv session where we would brainstorm musical ideas and then refine the ones we liked.  The transfer from cassette tape worked pretty well with not a lot of hiss or tape flutter.  
I've come to understand that joy and melancholy are more soul mates than opposites, both being able to bring tears at a moment's notice.  The "joy of being" in all its complexity and simplicity is a paradox to be celebrated.
