The three astronauts Neil Armstrong, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin and Michael Collins launched on a Saturn V rocket from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center in Florida on July 16, 1969, and reached lunar orbit on July 19. While Collins remained behind in the command module of the Columbia spacecraft, Armstrong and Aldrin touched down on the Earth's satellite the next day aboard the Eagle lunar module. A few hours later, Armstrong became the first man to set foot on the moon, shortly followed by Aldrin. After a nearly 22-hour stay, the lunar module launched again from the lunar surface and returned to the mother ship (lunar orbit rendezvous). After returning to Earth, Columbia splashed down in the Pacific Ocean about 25 km from the USS Hornet recovery ship on July 24. Apollo 11 also marked the first time rock samples were brought to Earth from another celestial body.

Around 600 million people worldwide watched the television broadcast of the 1969 moon landing.

I already see the blessings, which preceded my step. 
I see my aim on the horizon, morning-red
and turn the foot on parting, hop the low wall, 
because there is nothing more from the tower containing me, 
just a few handful of stones, stacked, 
and every breath blows them down.
Earth strength pure, my heavy foot pushs off, starts walking. 
Borderland familiar and cold night. 
I leave behind and know me free, 
free to choose everything within me and decide. 
I feel the war outworn for a long time, 
homecoming was long ago, shades passed. 
Only the rear gives stuff again. 
Now I am fit, I lean into the day, roll up my thinking,

I've always been a dancer, but only the blind still saw this, 
who held my dance image with his inner eye. 
The others who stared into space, where I was not,
saw only my led-colored day horse which dragged me along.
Sluice the lake , which has gathered from tears. 
On the ground are pearls and dross. 
No more collecting, not the shine, not his shades. 
Turn the path quite easily to the light! Shadow time is past.
A little it may still blaze. Light and shadow dance!
However, now my step brings flowers to the desolate country

Null + Void aka Kurt Uenal (@nullandvoidmusic)a may not be a familiar name for many music fans, but chances are you’ve heard his work. The Swiss-born New Yorker is the kind of prodigious musician you’d call a “lifer”: no matter where he is or what he’s doing, music is the focus. He first made his name in 2003, debuting as Kap10Kurt on the essential compilation “The Sound Of Young New York”. His song “Die Sleeping” was an early classic of dreamy, club-ready synth pop, and it caught the attention of fans and artists around the world. 
It eventually landed him a gig recording with Depeche Mode singer Dave Gahan, not to mention a long list of major acts such as Moby and The Kills.
 
The collaboration with Dave was especially fruitful —the two became friends, and it wasn’t long before Kurt began writing original songs for Depeche Mode. His love for vintage synthesizers, dark electronic music, and exploring unusual chord structures was a natural fit. The more Kurt worked with Dave and Depeche Mode, the more time he spent at his Manhattan studio. He started writing his own shadowy, melancholic songs, filling them with angular beats and moody atmospheres. After a while, the basis of Kurt’s new solo project, Null + Void, took shape. 

In joyful anticipation of things to come ‘Asphalt Kiss’ is the first single taken off the upcoming album ‘Cryosleep’.

“Asphalt Kiss” is a chunky, synth-driven track built on Detroit electro’s mechanical bounce and has a sinister glint in its eyes. It’s a stark statement of intent from someone clearly in full mastery of his skills.


The remix comes courtesy of Matrixxman – aka Charles Duff – who supplies a typically intense techno workout that twists the track into a futuristic machine funk monster. The tension remains palpable throughout the almost 8 minutes. Stripped back, classy and full of atmosphere, this is sure to ignite some of the more underground establishments this year.
